It just occured to me, do you think that the name "HK" is a little hats off to the Terminator films, standing for "Hunter Killer"?

Anyway, if you talk to HK he reveals that he might be easier to fix if he's in a particular place.
I know from the walkthrough on this site that you can just repair him, but I got him whilst trying to get my last star map and haven't invested any points into the repair skill.

Could anyone tell me where this place is? Perhaps on the Star Forge?

Repairing him is the same difficulty regardless of where you try it. The 'stimulus' he refers to occurs after the Leviathan sequence. And it's not 'repairing' him as such -- he'll get his memory back and you'll lose the ability to repair him manually, but he won't get the various character bonuses he does when you repair him yourself. However, if Tatooine is your last planet then I'm not sure how this works -- the one time I did Tatooine last, I didn't bother picking HK up. Hmm.
