Imoen Romance

To those of you who've downloaded and have played through the Imoen Romance mod, i have a question.
Isn't Imoen a tad bit vulgar?
It's not that i'm complaining or anything, it's acctualy refreshing to see this, but... does it really fit in with the game? does she even have anything in comon with the original dialogues?

Vulgar? No I wouldn't say that exactly........... I've just finished the Imoen romance and am mixed on my feelings about it. There were many areas that I quite liked about it, such as the more indepth analysis and look into her torture. The rape she was subjected too certainly gave me a new reason to go after Irenicus very quickly lol. I didn't like a lot of the dialogues and in particular the way she 'spoke' a lot of the time but overall I tended to warm towards it the further I got into the game.
I thought the romance itself was a little too complicated, too many ways things can go wrong. There was more than one occasion when I thought the dialogue I chose was more suited to letting her know how I felt about 'us' than the 'right' option that the creator of the mod intended. I think it could have been made a little more simple (just slightly) without taking anything away or it becoming too easy. But then again that's just my opinion, other's might think that the creator had the right idea.
I think generally I did like it, but it could have been implimented a lot better with slight tweaks to the dialogue. Definately worth trying at least once
Before anyone goes "Ewww but you're brother and sister!!!" Well, that's actually adressed in the MOD and I don't agree with that take on it at all. The only way that the two of you are releated is via Bhaal. You had separate mothers, can 2 spawns of a god really be considered related if they're from separate mothers? You'd have to get into genetic specifics about a god to answer that and I don't think anyone can really provide and outcome on that
Do you consider yourself a true "brother" or "sister" to any of the foes in TOB? What the MOD focuses on is the mental barriers you and Imoen carry about being brought up and seeing eachother as siblings more so than anything else.

Meh. *shrugs* Say what you like, it's a game and an optional mod at that. If it's not to your taste then don't try it
I don't mind it, it adds more depth to Imoen's character. It's up to you wether you play it for the romance factor or just remain friends/siblings. Not something to get worked up about

Yeah. The thing is, it was also addressed in the game and Mirrabbo chose to totally discard Imoen's conclusions on the matter in order to create his own spin.

I didn't say I didn't like it, i'm just saying, the creator of the Mod didn't *exactly* re-create the dialogues using Imoen's personality. Personaly, the mod makes her more "different" than "alike" to the original Imoen.
I agreed that it's worth going through atleast once, and that's what i'm doing. All i'm saying is, she's not the same... She's more mocking than playful, and... have any of you noticed that... the creator of the Mod talks a lot about the torture, it's just like in "Meet Joe Black" when the guy dies in the start, they could have just had a horn, and then black out. You don't need to acctualy see the guy bust his body in twenty pieces being hit by two cars. Same thing applies here. Ok, you know she got tortured, but do you really *need* to know that she was raped, and cut open, and laid in a pool of blood etc...etc... I don't think so... I'm not critizising the mod, it's a great mod, and a lot of work went into it i'm sure. It just seems a little... Morbid that's all. And it's not just Imoen, he brings up the Aerie thing up again too. I mean, she's supposed to have calmed down after you talk to her. But as soon as Imoen pops up, she's starts crying again. I mean... enough is enough. The game's hard enough without all those whiny people o.o

I agree, which is what I was sorta trying to say in my first post about not liking a lot of her dialogues. Quite often she didn't act the way I think that Imoen normally would.
Anyone who hasn't tried it yet and is being put off by the above posts - dont be
Just give it a go for yourself, if you don't like it you can always stop/uninstall. Try it once and draw your own conclusions

Arch Angel's right, i'm not trying to discurage you guys from playing it and all. But i really needed to post how I felt about it that's all. Besides, it's just my opinion ^^
@Arch Angel - I'm not getting worked up about it. I'm acctualy for a nice degree of incest
(if i had any sisters I mean, and if they were like Imoen hehehe) but seriously, i just got... disapointed by that mod. That's all.

Well, I thought up a romance on Immy and the Child on the first episode - she had the nicest portrait, and was the coolest character around, IMO. But never thought up for incest, thats for sure, but something grander on her life as well.
I've downloaded the mod, you guys drawn my attention. Gonna play and post.

Just ONE question...
Before I spend hours D/L'ing.
CAN the Imoen romance pac be played in BG2-SoA WITHOUT the (INSIPID!) ToB?????????
Would like to add it but don't want to D/L if it ain't gonna work. I have heard both ways, same with Valen come t' think about it. ????

Well said guys, thats the same way I feel about this mod. Its a very good mod but alot of the dialog seems out of character. For me I didn't particularly like the new dreams scenes with Imoen's slang talk. And yes the romance is very complicated, one of the tricks is to have a character with high Wisdom scores but even then you have to pick the right responses even when there is no clear best response. Then again the music was excellent, and there were lots of quality cutscenes so it was well worth downloading.
