i've almost maxed my luck out... but i did every other attribute first
luck started at 40 for my imperial, think it might be the same for the other races
so it would take 60 levels to get it to 100...

What does "Luck" do anyway?

Luck adds a little extra to every skill check you make.

Luck doesn't seem worth it to me, to be honest. I'm level 20 and have yet to place a single point in it.

I started a new character earlier today ( wood elf custom stealth class) and picked agility and luck as my favorite attributes.

I have read from another board that the effect of 10 points more in luck is like 2 points more in each skill. Don't know if it's true.

I also chose luck as favourite attribute for my current character as luck doesn't get multpliers on level up like other attributes do.

Idioteque, and Moleman, it would be great if you could keep me posted with your new characters with luck as their favorite... Thanks a lot

Twoback23, since you asked, here's an update. I posted my character's stats on this thread .

About luck - don't know if it has any *real* effect. I have raised luck only when I didn't have multipliers at least in three other attributes. It's been awhile since I played last time and it was a bit different character so it's hard to compare how I'm doing with luck as favourite... but in this game it's so easy to raise other attributes than luck, so go ahead and choose it as favourite. I'm sure it won't do any harm if not so much good either.

Your character looks pretty good, how does that adamantium armor look? Is that what the Guards of Mournhold wear? You mentioned something about how your skills level faster or something, could this be due to luck?

Thanks :)

Adamantium armor can be added to the game with official mod. It is gray-silverish, looks kinda traditional knights armor to me. Guards of Mournhold have different armor, can't remember it's name but it's not adamantium.

About leveling faster; I'm not sure what you are referring to. If you mean the multipliers with other attributes on level ups - then it has nothing to do with luck. Every time you level up you will get multipliers on attributes, if you had raised skills based on those attributes after last level up. Multipliers mean that you can raise attribute with 2-5 points instead of just 1. This happens regardless of luck attribute.

No skill is based solely on luck, so therefore luck can not get multipliers on level ups. That's why making luck as favourite is the only way of boosting it permanently - of course you can raise luck with potions or enchanted items.

I think he was talking about the duration before skills go up a point (and hell, I suck at English)

Sorry, now i understand what Twoback23 referred to - earlier I mentioned thaat "the effect of 10 points more in luck is like 2 points more in each skill". Well, possibly but it's not so easy to notice as the difference isn't that great. And the skills don't actually raise, but I understood that the effect of luck is like having more skills even though it won't show in your stat screen.

Perhaps this could be tested though... With certain security skill and certain type of lockpick it is only possible to pick locks up to certain number - if skill+lockpick combination is too low you'll get "lock too complex" notification. OK, one could test raising luck (with spell/enchanted item) and see if better luck makes it possible to pick that kind of lock.

HAHA yea but thats just for the storyline haha... yea that would be crazy if that happened to someone... It could but yea it would be luck of the actual player.

Nice Translation fer'or, you were right on target with what my question actually was.
