SPOILER Question re Edwin's Quest

Is there any way to stop Edwin changing back to a male person?

I really hate the git anyway, but he does have a lot of spells so if you're an Evil Fighter PC he's pretty-much a must-have. But I may say that I find his/her new form much easier to tolerate, what with the deserved come-uppance for his confounded arrogance being a never-ending cause for mirth, never mind her graphics being much easier on the eye.

So, desperate to keep her, I've checked this most excellent organ, which simply says that she'll switch back in c. 20 days, carnage will follow, etc. I do not wish this to happen.

Any answers? Also, where might I find a mod that changes her name to Edwina?

I dont use mods sorry, so I cant help you there.

I also could be wrong about what I am going to tell you.

However....

I played it through once, turned him into edwina using his cursed quest book.

From memory this ends up leading to an encounter with someone hunting him down, and you get the choice to narc on him or just let the guy hunting him think that his is edwina and not really edwin.

I was pretty certain that there is an option in this scene that keeps him as edwina. I made it happen on one occassion. It was something along the lines of dobbing him in, he gets killed, raising him and getting him to join you again.

It was probably more of a bug than anything, so Im not sure how worthwhile it is, as you wont het much future dialog (youd need a mod for that).

On a side note, another option is to use a transfer items list to transfer the girdle of masculinity/feminity from BG1 and then make him wear that.

Once again I suspect a mod would be required to create any role playing from him.

Food for thought anyway, can anyone else help??
