I have played almost all the way through KOTOR, I have the last unknown planet to do.....I haven't gone to yavin at all during the whole game..,"I thought that is was a planet like the rest and was just doing them in order"..I thought.

When I finally decided to go to Yavin....I enter the space port, pick any two characters to join me on the yavin base and leave the ship.

I then enter the hall to the Yavin base..I continue to go to the end of the hall to the first door..I open that door using the control panel and it opens ....I continue to the next door and do the same.....I then come to the third door with the same method of using the panel to open the door....when it opens the screen go's commpletely black and then dialogue appears as if I started a conversation with a character. sounds and interaction is there...I can still go to my menu selection and return to the action screen..but its all black....I can move ..but EVERYTHING is BLACK....is this a glitch in just my game only...cause has of now..I can't do anything after the 3rd door on the Yavin base..its useless

I haven't had any problems through out the whole game and know I get this horrible glitch that doesn;'t allow me to do anything on Yaving base....If anyone has any advice on what may be the trouble , it would be greatly appreaciated...

Sorry for the lengthy trouble shooting, but I wanted to be clear.

Have you tried patching the game? Cause i never had any problems with the Yavin station.

(In your next games, go there ASAP and return often. You can buy good items there, and hes restocked a few times in the game. Also when you beat him 10times with Pazaak (750bet) you get an 10%discount)

go to the lucas arts site, go under SW:KotOR and then look for patches, its easy

Read the sticky (pinned thread) on this (sub-)forum.
Or simply click update in the autostart menu.

i had a similar problem when i came to the sand people enclave... so what i had to do was...

copy my save game files, and put the sopy somehwere else...

uninstall the game, then install it again

because apparently, the texture's for that particular screen, hadnt been installed properly or i had deleted them by mistake...
