That pretty much sums it up. Most 'political entities' are quite short-sighted when it comes to the environment.

I have been doing a lot of research on this at work recently. The one thing, not surprisingly, that comes up time and time again is that most of the 'scientists' who dispute climate change are closely associated with industry and/or the Bush administration...
So much for the 'objectivity' of science...

Not exactly news, but nobody would havbe mentioned it back when Bush was a hero. His staff and advisors consist of people his own father considered too extreme. During the North Atlantic Climate Convention he sent Richard "Goose-step" Pearle! The man who once explained the detoriation of the ozone layer in the span of 80 years as "a natural occurence that happens every once in a while and probably killed the dinosaurs."
