I have the scroll to heal lothander of his Geas but he is not at the Blades and Stars, is it a glitch I am using the original saga.

Did you check upstairs?

He is on the second floor of Balde and Stars.
Marek (name?) will be on the second floor of The Blushing Mermaid

I have checked blades and stars numerous times, have gone back and retraced my route for the quest in case I missed a trigger, Lothander is not there, and Marek is not at the blushing mermaid. I am using the walkthrough so the quest should have gone ok, I have the scroll. I went to the second floor, the is a commoner, and a girl with a three tree name like Maple Ash Oak or something after her dialogue she disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Yes, that does sound like abug. If everything else fails, cheat to get the antidote, else you'll die. Also, there's a valuable item that Marek drops at the end of the quest: the Eagle bow, arguably one of the best weapons in the game.

To cheat both items in, you'll have to do the following:
1. Open your Baldur.ini file which is in your root directory using a text editor such as Windows notepad. You may want to copy it first to another directory so you will have the original in case something goes wrong.
2. Look for the heading called [Program Options]
3. Insert a line called Cheat=1
this will tell the game you want to turn on the cheating system
4. Save the file and restart Baldur's Gate.
5. When you are back playing the game again. Press CRTL+SPACE. You now should see a dialogue box allowing you to type in words.
The antidote: CLUAConsole:CreateItem(" POTN47 ")
The Eagle bow CLUAConsole:CreateItem(" BOW08 ")

Didn't work, crtl space did nothing, I am using the original saga does that make a difference?

the directions for cheats on gamebanshee say to use ctrl-tab,........ok that doesn't work either. I haven't been this disappointed since I wore the boots of speed in the Cloakwood mines elevator.

It really should work, James. I remember sometimes having trouble with the ctrl-space combination. Or maybe I got some detail wrong.
I dunno about the original saga... I don't think it would make a difference though.
Can somebody else step in?

I think (hope) I got it:
"Look for the heading called [Program Options]" should be: "Look for the heading called [Game Options]".
Let me know if it works out or not.

Gee, if I was a NPC my INT would be 3 or something. The link I gave you was correct, but you have to download GATEkeeper instead of DALEkeeper. Dalekeeper is for IWD, as you noticed. Sorry. Mea maxima culpa (that's Latin for: I'm a dumbass).

This is true. Using cheats and game editors can really destroy the whole game experience. I have only one advice for you: "Just say no!"
