In level one of the temple dungeon, you may have freed some prisoners, one of whom was Princess Tillahi (probably identified as "elven prisoner").

From that point on, there are bugs:
Sometimes her reward party doesn't show up period.
Sometimes they show up but the blue(?) elven chainmail you're supposed to get isn't given.
I think I got a unicorn ring from her once, but never the chainmail.

If you do a search here and on the Atari ToEE forums you'll find a fix for not getting the elven chainmail, although IIRC you will have to edit a game file to do so.

I have the Co8 patch and still get bugs with the rescue reward, so it has not (AFAIK) ever been fixed completely.

I'll see if I can find the thread that has directions to fix the bug, but meanwhile it is worth noting that the woman (Smigmal Redhand) in Falrinth's section of temple dungeon level 3 has a set of blue elven chainmail, too.

Here you go, courtesy of Auldar's response to the issue on the Atari forum:

"To fix the Blue Elvish chain armour missing from the reward for Spoiler: rescuing Tillahi, edit "Elven Maiden" NPC inventory in data/Rules/InvenSource.mes.

The reason for the bug is that the dialog with the Elven maiden calls a function to transfer the Blue Elvish chain from her inventory to the PC's, however she doesn't *have* the blue elvish chain. She was mistakenly given the *green* chain, twice. As such the transfer fails.

Change this:

{138}{Elven maiden: 100,6214 100,6214 100,6126 100,6057 100,6058 100,4081 100,6027 gold,2-12 silver,4-24 platinum,2-12}

to:

{138}{Elven maiden: 100,6214 100,6125 100,6126 100,6057 100,6058 100,4081 100,6027 gold,2-12 silver,4-24 platinum,2-12}

-Auldar"

Sha-zam!

re: reward

Thanx for this great info.

I've never gotten the reward for freeing the Elven prisoners.
I'll definitely try again now!

As always, :) :) :)

I think it is still buggy, because in my last 2 games, they never showed up at all.

:mad:

:o ... tut tut.. very dissapointing, hi i'm very new, but very good, *sigh this whole thing could be avoided if you simply attack and kill the elven pricess, you recieve the armour.. money and weapons from her brady bunch behind her! :cool:

I don't think so - IIRC, when they intercept your party a dialogue is initiated immediately - with no chance to attack and loot - they give you their stuff and vanish. I mean, I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it - even though it only happened twice for me. But maybe there was a dialogue route to start a fight...?

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Thanks.
