Problem: Stuck with the Houses...

Sul-Mutuul warned me that the Houses and others might not like it that I am the Naravarine when I try to join the Houses... but he never told me HOW to join them if they didn't like me. So, naturally, I'm stuck. House Redoran won't let me join, and I haven't even tried House Telvanni yet. House Hlaalo had no problem signing me up. Neminda of House Redoran says I'm a fraud and the Captain of the Watch told her that I hide behind the Naravarine prophecies, and the only thing I can say to her is "Goodbye." What do I do?? I can't go back to a previously saved game, because I overwrote any games that would go far enough.

I must say... This game is a bit frustrating sometimes...

Please help.

(How the heck do you spell Hlaalo? Hlaluu? Hlaalu? Hlaaluloo? The names in this game are wacked. "Hey, have you been to Ashurnibibilibilibibineripotalurnurpurbur yet?")

Well, I know at one point while you are doing the main quest certain people/guilds etc. wont talk to you until it is actually proven you are the nervaraine. Until then, they think you are a fraud. So you just have to deal with it I guess. Once the main quest is complete everything should be normal again. Hope that helps.

AH! THANK YOU SO MUCH! See, I never "became" the real Naravarine, because I thought I had to join the Houses before I did, otherwise they wouldn't except me. But I see now. Thank you very much!

Possible spoilers

Sounds like you already joined House Hlaalu. Since you can only join one house the others won't touch you. Even if you get kicked out of a house the best you can hope for is to be forgiven and to rejoin - but you can't join a different house.

Possible spoilers: You don't have to join any houses if you don't want to. Being the head of a house only means that you don't have to jump through all their hoops to get their approval. In fact you can actually skip all the Neravine and Horator quests if you play it right. Each house gives you some interesting quests and their own version of a stronghold (for what that's worth) but none are necessary for finishing the main quest. There are potentially three different ways to finish the main quest.
