For some reason Pelegiad appeals to me, so I selected "other." It is probably the surrounding landscape as much as anything.
I really like Suran too. :)

other... me being a monkish character, i dont really like the hustle of a big city, but dragon wench makes a good point of the wide open space i dont mind pelagiad so much besides i got my khajiit friend inside the tavern.

I chose Sadrith Mora because I love the way everything is oreintated with Magic, being a female witch Altmer and all.... I also really like Suran but I still prefer Sadrith Mora, also because I am of the Telvanni  !!!

Raven's Rock on Solstheim. It feels like home because I helped getting it build.

Ebonheart. Because of the work I do IRL I love working for the Imperial Cult, espically collecting alms for the poor, its just like real life, and it can be very rewarding in the game, not sure why.

Its a nice castle and feels more like the seat of Power than Vivec does. Its multicultrual with Orcs, Bosmer, Bretons, Dunmer, Altmer and even the Arogonian embassy! Imperials obviously run the town, and I've seen Redguard about. Just seems more civilised that say Ald'Ruhn where people are unpleasant.

well, people are unpleasent because you are in a rival faction, or just not in theirs, for example, I was an Altmer and all the Ordinators hated me and their disposition with me was say, 15, but when I joinded the Temple and advanced a few ranks, they have a disposition of 90 with me. ;)

True, but Ebonheart is generally more receptive of people generally. Also its good fun being in the Legion and outranking the guards (although the pricks won't speak to me unless I'm wearing the stupid armour)

IMO Ebonheart is all around more pleasant than Vivec.
Vivec is really confusing to navigate around; it is also a very difficult place in which to find people and locations. Somebody will tell me that 'x' or 'y' is in the Foreign Quarter, for example, ummm.. most of the time I end up spending ages figuring out what level I'm supposed to be on. *roll eyes*
Plus, even being able to fly, I find those damn pyramids really annoying.

Sorry, I don't mean to derail the thread into a gripe about Vivec ;)

its cool, vivec is my least favorite city, bring on the gripe...
i for one, hate the narrow passages that make me have to kill innocent ordinators

In the early stages before you can afford to spare the Magika on levetate and don't want to waste potions Vivec is a complete ***** to get around. The scenery isn't even nice. And the amount to times I've been lost there when I was learning is huge. When you fall in the water its piss annoying to get out... I just hate the place. Its my least favourite City too, although something about Maar Gan just makes me want to puke too.

DM

PS Mournhould could do with the ability to get from Godsreach to the Bazar directly, other than that, its a top capital City.

I don't know... Mournhold is pretty well designed but it lacks atmosphere.
Vivec actually grew on me after a (long) while. I like most of the cities although I'm not too fond of Hla Oad. It has this dreary quality. Maybe it's just because it was raining hard the few times I went there. :p

I'm not sure I would call Hla Oads a city, even calling it a town is a stretch, it's more like a village, and yeah it sucks.

I voted Sidrith Mora, cause I like all those mushroom houses and the big tower. I generally like all the Telvanni cities which is why I find it hard to start a character who is not a mage that ends up joining them.

Caldera

I voted for Caldera, not for its looks but for the services it has and the compact layout. I get tired of running all over Balmora and Vivic looking for shops. Caldera has lots to offer in a small package: a good armorer, pawnshop, clothier, Shenk's Shovel - the inn with at least two very good trainers, the Blade trainer, the mansion with a couple of good trainers, Creeper and a mage guild with a guild guide. Plus if you get the master propylon index you can quickly travel to distant areas. Also you can sleep in Ghorak manor without fear of being ambushed by assassins (at least I've never been ambushed in there).

I voted for Balmora. It was the second city I went to the first time I played the game, and I immediately adopted it as my hometown. I love that town. I guess it's because everyone there loves me. The guards even like me about 90/100. It's pretty cool. Everyone wishes me luck. And, I've got a house with tons of stuff, and even a servant. Ok, maybe she's not MY sevant, but she's the servant of the guy who died in there, and I didn't kill her because "she keeps house." My house is kind of odd with a dead guy lying on the floor and all, though. So yeah, Balmora all the way. I like the three bridges and the South Wall Corner Club. I absolutely DESPISE Vivec. That has to be the dumbest layout for a city that I have ever seen. When I'm outside walking around, it looks pretty nice. I like the temple part with all those steps. I jump up and down and up and down increasing my athletics... But I never go inside. I hate it in there. And I also don't like the Ordinators. They need an attitude adjustment. You know another nice little town/village? Gnisis. That's a nice town to just walk around and enjoy the scenery. I mean, there's even a guy in the water with no pants! You have to find pants for him! HA! I'm a fan of randomness, and I found that to be hilarious. But yeah, those are my thoughts.

Well, if you can call it a town, Hla Oad is my favourite town because IRL I also live in a ****hole. So "it kinda looks like home".

And if Hla Oad doesn't count as a town then Caldera is my favorite town. Like UncleScratchy said, everything is just a leap away from you.

Haven't been to Suran much, though.

And I absolutely DON'T like the Telvanni towns. I always get lost in those treehouses.

Tree house towns look cool

I like Sadrith Mora the best because it has a little of everything. Fortress, tudor bar (modelled after Durty Nelly's in Ireland by the way?) THe fungal architecture is cool. (Yes it's apain to live there, but nice to visit.)
The only thing Sadrith Ora doesn't have is the Al Rhudin with it's croissant style architecture.

I'm suprised to see that I'm the only one who likes Vivec. The city is great for God's sake! You can find everything you want in 2 minutes! I also like Pelagiad and Sadrith Mora.
