You serious?

Makes undead a) run away and not attack for a while or b) makes them explode rather dramatically so they don't bother you anymore. Option b) works at higher cleric levels.

The is an icon in the Cleric control bar (undead skull thingy). Highlight that and there you go. You can move around but any attack spell etc counters the turn function. SOme undead you need to close with them (limited range).

You may want to consider casting Santuary prior to turning undead...

Your Cleric (or Paladin) activates the ability and as long as he doesnt attack, cast a spell or use an item, all undeads near you have a chance to either run away in fear, get killed (good/neutral clerics) or get controlled by you (evil clerics).

And check out the descriptions of spells in your manual, while you're at it. :D ;)

My game didn't come with a manual, I had it for a long time but ah, my cds got messed up so i guess i didn't have it for a long time as well. I found it about 1.5 months ago at wal-mart again for 20 bucks (soa + tob), though it was crudely packaged and suggests it is not a very good game (though that as we all know is a case of judging a book by it's cover)

Sounds like it was a cutrate late deal, the kind many publishers make with a third-party distributor years after a title has made its mark. For example, Jagged Alliance 2, which sold for $50 new in 1999, was just repackaged without its manual, and with a new, pretty bad mod, for $20.

Well, at least you made the right decision, and got a very good game out of it. :)

Aye pretty much everything from black isle is an excellent title, with the possible exception of neverwinter nights. (Why in god's name did they make a game with such potential so annoying?)

Your turn undead ability is kinda useless untill much higher levels, then you can make things explode pretty easilly, even a lich or two if you're feelin up to it.

Usually when you get these repackaged deals, you can find a manual on the CD somewhere, for your browsing pleasure.
