I'm playing BG2 for the first time. I installed ToB and it didn't work. Now iIm playing Shadows of Amn and gues what?
Shapeshifting doesn't work. Since i become a slayer, when I'm robbed of my soul, I can't continue the game because it simply stops.
There 's a bug of some sort. Need help. Does any-one have any suggestions on how to repair this problem?

Welcome to the forum. :) Could you explain a little bit more, exactly what you mean? I can't continue the game because it simply stops. Do you mean the game freezes, and you have to do a reboot?

What do you mean by you tried to install ToB, and failed? What exactly happened? And did you install ToB before SoA?

Well, while I have to say this bug seems quite strange I'll try to give some general advice which turns out to hold quite often.

1. Install the official patches to Baldur's Gate 2
2. Update all your drivers
(3. Update your OS)

Also: posting your system specs might help. I'm sure there's some tool within BG2 that determines them and displays them.

O.K. let me tell you the whole story. Whenever i wan't to shapshift with my charecters the game freezes and have to do a reboot. But this wasen't always like so. About four months ago I first installed SoA. Everything was working wery well, witout any problems. Even shapshifting warked. But than something hapend. A frend of mine sad to me . Hey why don't you install my copy of ToB , it will make things more interesting. And i did it. But when i finished installing the computer sad: please, insert the original CD-ROm in drive. SO i uninstaled ToB, reset my computer and about a weak later dicsovered that shapshifting doesn't work. And now I'm stuck with this prolem and don't know what to do. I've instaled SoA again, cleaned the CD, scaned for viruses, but nothing worked. SO, now can you help me , or not.

Official patches (game fixes, some games have small(of big) bugs in them, a patch fixes this. Whenever you play a new game, you should check the gamesite to see if there are any patches for it)

The SoA patch can be downloaded here
The ToB patch can be downloaded here

If you have ToB installed (and if you have it I recommand installing it right away) you only need to install the ToB patch.
