That's right. This was one of those bits of BBC snippet news they throw in to fill out the briefs occasionally in the first ten minutes of the News Hour. It appears that a Swiss firm was marketing a beer that smells like hemp but actually contained no drugs (well, other than alcohol, which is a drug, after all). The Swiss put up advertisements showing a marajuana leaf with the word "legalize," and that was enough for the Russians! The nation that has one of the world's worst reputations for alcoholism (probably alongside the Finnish) wasn't about to let their moral standards slip, and they called the Swiss to account.

Well, nice thing...

Let us poison ourselves with Stolichnaya, not with hemp...

Russians have a nice way to sort things out.

Too bad they have no real deal economic power at this level...

there isn't just beer. There's also hemp iced tea and many more products that have marijuana leaves scribled on them. I mean why don't the russians just leave us alone. Switzerland is the largest producer of marijuana in europe anyway, and everybody knows it. They just found something to complain about. What were they thinking anyway? Just cause it says "legalize" on a beer doesn't mean everybody is going to push the government to actually legalize it. Besides, if they read the beer cover thingie, it says: "Marijauana aroma". Fable is right. The drink doesn't actually contain any THC(active ingridient in marijuana), so technically i see no problem.

But that's just me of course.
