I'm kinda low on moolah... Help?

Well, with all my other characters that I've played in Morrowind, I've never had any trouble with cash. One reason is because EVERYTHING I saw in barrels and stuff in cities I would sell. I'd get about 1k or 2k every time I entered a city. Most of which I sold was plants and stuff... I never did anything alchemy-wise. But this time around, I'm trying out making new potions and stuff. (Not to mention, It's really fun.

) Buut... I'm having trouble with money now. Right now I'm headed over to Ghostgate to steal all that crappy but expensive glass stuff, and I'm gonna sell it to the highest bidder. I'm just wondering how some of you get your money? Lots of money never hurts.

selling stuff worth 5000 to creeper, and stuff worth 10000 to mudcrab. then when selling something worth say 70,000 i can buy the same value of the smaller things i sold minus how much money either mudcrab or creeper has. then for each little thing i need to sell, i wait 24 hours for the trader to get their money back.
its overkill really, and takes days
but its nice to talk to mudcrab and be able to buy every weapon/armour in the entire game.
the higher your alchemy skill, the better chance you have at making a potion and the more that potion is worth. even negative effect potions are worth money, and you can sell potions for full price to creeper.

The way I make money early on in the game is in Balmora using the Alchemy shop their, the one near the hlaalu HQ.
This methor requires you to be good at stealing stuff.
First steal all the expensive alchemy gear that you find there. This is the hard part. Now assuming you have some money to start off with, like 500 maybe, start by buying some cheap ingredients that you know make potions, this doesn't have to be good potions. Don't buy anything over 5 coins per piece, infact I'm pretty sure she has something that you can buy at 1 or 2 coins that can make you a potion. She has unlimited stock of almost all of her ingredients, so buy about a 100 of each at a time, and start making potions. Then sell them all back to her, keep doing this until you get all her money. Then wait 24 hours, rinse and repeat. This is also a good way to get your alchemy skill up

.
Now through experimentation I found out that on average if your Alchemy skill is below 15 you will not make enough potions to cover the cost of the ingredients, but your skill will go up fast so if you have a little money cushion this can work even with low Alchemy skill. This process is however time consuming, and I don't suggest it if you have alchemy as your major or minor, but this you can do very early in the game.

theres just 1 problem with this right after you finish and you go into your inventory theres gona be tons of potions so what i found that works i barter with her go to my inventory then get out and come in again to have less junk like instead of have 30 bottles all over you inventory you 1 bottle of 30 i found this out cause i was tierd of spending hours at a time dumping my potions.

Well, my method is built on fact that there are some cheap reagents. I prefer kwama cuttle and scales for Water Walk potions because sometimes it has some use, altogether it may be any, even completely absurd and useless potion. Theese components have cost 2 drakes per unit, and you can become friendly with some seller having those in unlimited numbers (Ajira rather comes in mind if you've done all for her in Balmora Mages Guild). So i buy 300 units of every component.
The next, i first raise my Intellect and Luck high enough to forget about failing. Altogether i'm taking care not to go too far - as soon as the cost of my potions (i'm making what i'm drinking on the spot) is about 400-450 i'm switching to waterwalk potions. (If the cost is too high it limits the number of merchants you can sell it to.) Even if you are not getting the face value for every bottle the difference is great enough to conver all expenses and to leave considerable weigth in pockets. So after the first alchemy session im a rich man.
However, i'm never stealing the reagents or other mass things what cannot be hidden behind enchantment (what makes the solen item unrecognizable as well to former ownenr as to guards). It's too hard to remember what where has been stolen.
And, in diference with most of RPG games, you cannot become rich by stealing in Morrowind. What's in the pockets and purses of Morrowind population is hardly worth the effort, and their chests mostly aren't any better. In addition there's only one quest what might be solved by pickpocketing, and there isn't the specific skill anyway, all is depending on your security and stealth skills (and related attributes).
And, after all, the only real use and necessity for money in Morrowind i know are bribes and alchemy reagents (and some weaponry at the begining). Well, enchantments, too, for chars not caring about alchemy (otherwise with 4000-5000 Int. and 1000 Luck there's no enchantmen everybody couldn't make himself

)

Cash cows
For me the cash cows of the game are killing assassins (Tribunal) early in the game, then trapping souls into gems later in the game and selling them to Creeper, then killing dremora lords/golden saints wherever I can find them for their weapons (usually daedric shrine areas) and then monotonous/boring/tedious potion making. By the time I'm killing dremora lords I don't really need the extra cash anymore though.

First steal all the expensive alchemy gear that you find there. This is the hard part.
Not for me
SPOILER, kinda?
In the Caldera Mages Guild there is a complete set of alchamy gear. There is a door leading to an unwatched room. It is up at the top of the stairs in this room.
You just got all masters alchamy gear at basically any time in the game. You don't need any money.

I've got like, 5 different sets of alchemy gear, and tons of ingredients to make potions. I don't need to buy anything like that. My alchemy skill is really low, so I wanted to buy some training before I started making potions. That's why I need money... Not to buy the alchemy stuff.

If you have 5 sets of alchemy gear why not sell 4 and use the money to train!!!

I knew someone was going to say that... The reason is, I'd only get like, 1k or something, and that's not enough. I was just looking for an easy way to get lots of money at once, or a way to get a constant income of some sort.

Heres a way to make you get loads of money when ever you want, but the beggining takes a little while:
1.) Buy a Extravagant Amulet and a weapon of your choice.
2.) Steal the Soul Gems in the Mages guild.
3.) Buy a Summon Scamp spell from the Dunmer lady in Caldera Mages Guild and a Soul Trap from the guild guide in Balmora.
4.) Go to the Alchenist in Balmora and buy a Mark Potion.
5.) Go to Caldera and Buy the Recall Amulet from the Trader.
6.) Go to Creeper and use the Mark potion in front of him.
7.) Go to Vivec and taunt then kill an Ordinator.
8) Recall to Creeper.
9.) Sell him the Ordinator armour (Remember to sell like for instance, if you have something worth 7000, sell like something worth 2000, then sell him the 7000 and take back the 2000 then sell the 2000 item again).
10.) Go to an Enchanter (not the one in Balmora) and get their disposition up to 100.
11.) Enchant the Amulet with Summon Scamp, Cast when used.
12.) Enchant the weapon with Soultrap, Cast on Strikes.
13.) Go to Tel Branora to the Trader and buy as many Common Soul Gems as you can (she has unlimited amount of them).
Now the Money making step:
14.) Cast Summon Scamp and quickly kill it with your Soul Trap weapon, if it works then you will have a Soul Gem worth 4000 to sell to Creeper. Do this as many times as you want because you have unlimited amounts of Soul Gems!!!
Enjoy!

the best way to make money early on in the game at least is just to kill/steal from people and sell the stuff to the mudcrab if its that valuable or the guy in the fighters guild in balmora's a favourite too. it works.
Killing people is fun.
