bugged speech

sometimes when i try to talk to people i get the msg that says 'xxx is busy' and no matter how many times i click to talk to them they refuse to talk to me... makes it very hard for me to do my quests...
i have installed bg2, then bg2 patch and tob... anyone had the same problem?

I've noticed that reply only when the person I'm trying to speak with has already communicated everything required. They have nothing more to say, hence the "is busy" comment.

@Fable - it is a known bug which is fixed in the ToB patch, this is from Biowares BG2 - known Issues:
"There is currently a bug with Win2K users with Service Pack 2 installed, in which NPCs respond with "X appears busy".
This is fixed in the current BG2: Throne of Bhaal Patch"
