I read in a previous thread that rouges are useless. I found this to be true so I created a new party with a bard instead. I ran into a real problem in the escape tunnel when i could not uncover the secret passege that leads to temple lvl 3. I tried searches detect doors and everything else i could think of but it never showed up. I even tried useing that npc rouge that cheats at cards. I explored some more and i found that i could find secret doors but never any secret passeges. Anyone know how to solve this its never been an issue before?

Also, where is this brothel I keep hearing about? What was it before the patch?

Are the Demon statue from the rainbow rock or the childs toy from that place with the big fish and sea hag used for anything?

And my final question, I heard that after killing lareth the beautiful a rouge will come after you. How is this initiated?

Given that I'm asking so much in this post i thought I'd offer some advice. When taking on Hedrack try the cleric spell slay living. Its nice to get rid of that jerk right off the bat. You do that, web or entangle, and let your mage fly with the lightning and cone of cold.

If you search around you'll find lots of posts on the thing you wonder about. but i'll try to give you some answers.

First, Rouges are not useless in combat, their Sneak Attack is VERY powerful. They are useless for finding traps and such, but are very good spokesmen if the have good CHA.

The finding of secret doors are very bugged before you patch the game, but still, all you need to find them are an Elf. Elves find almost any secret, and if you have an elven Fighter/Rouge (my favorite) you wont have any problems. And BTW you dont need to find all, you can always go around.

The Brothel was removed before the game was released and you need the Co8 fan-patch to re-enable it. It's behind Mona (the gypsy that's missing her Orb) in Nulb. You have to talk to Mona to get in. There's 2 minor quests inside, aside from that i find it booring. IMO it really should be left out.

They are both powerful items. The Demon figurine summones a random fungi monster 1/day, and the Child's Toy summones a Lamia 1/day. You use them on the radial menu (after they are identified) in the same way you use potions and scrolls. Hang on to them, they really help out in though fights.

After Lareth's dead, you have to sell some of his stash (like his plate boots) at the merchants north in Homlet (across from Nira the jeweler).Then, next time you travel in the wild, i.e from Homlet to Nulb you will be stopped by the Assassin. Note that if you have done the "Traders Revealed" and "Agent Revealed" quests for Rufus & Burne, the Traders won't trade with you, so my advice is to not do these quests until after you've met the Assassin.
