Druid best starting stats?

Hello, i really like the druid and i like powergaming so i'd like to know what starting stats you guys think would be best?

I made one with these stats:

STR: 14
DEX: 16
CON: 12
INT: 10
WIS: 20
CHA: 8

What i'm curious about is if Intelligence and Charisma is at all important for the druid character. I put so much at dexterity because my earlier problems with druid is that he got hit so easy, in his normal form and especially shapeshifted. Wisdom is 20... so he's obviously a Human Aasimar. What do you guys think, tips?

well, I would put 10 and 10 in strengt and dex, 18 on con and wis, and the rest on int, druids don't need charisma.

More skillpoints.

Keep INT at 10 you will get 2 skill points per level more than enough. Put DEX to 10 and find heavy armor(and take the feat). Then minus CHA to 6(the minimum since your aasimar). Then put CON to 18 and STR to 16 and keep WIS at 20(add all points that you get every 4 levels to this) this alows you to cast spells very well and still be a back up fighter.

Interesting. You sure DEX is not needed? Especially when in shapeshifted form?

Your stats change when shapeshifted. Also shapeshift is not that great anyway with the stats i said you will be a better fighter in normal form(unless you download the mod for improved shapeshift) but in any case the str is better as by HoF dex/AC is pretty much unless you strive for super ACyou will get hit all the time no matter what so you are better off killing them quikly.

Interesting, thanks.

I'm gonna make a spellcaster-only party, and i will include this character. The only problem is making a good rogue spellcaster. It will be harder in the beginning but i should be able to pull through.

Use a wizard with one rogue class. Due to the high INT and (the high DEX you should have) you will not only get many skill points but a bonus due to attributes to the skills. Make sure you take the rogue class first for the extra skill points. Also make it a drow for the magic resistance and even higher INT and DEX.

BTW what were the stats your druid ended up with.

Also if you are not sure about which druid to use you can put druids with mine/Guada's/your stats in battle against each other in normal melee combat by creating a party with 2 of them and then verse them and the import the winning character design into a new game with the character that hasnt fought yet and see who wins). Make sure that they use the same weapon and do not cast spells or shapeshift and that your pause the game and tell them to attack each other at the same time. For added accuracy due to critical hits/misses you can do best out of 3 battles and you should see my build win overall easily.

How are the stats in IWD 2 distributed again? it's been such a long time...Do you get a fixed amount of points or point buy?

In case of a fixed amount of points (32)

Str 8
Dex 8
Con 18
Int 14
Wis 18
Cha 14

Your low stats will chage when you WS, and you don't need high str or dex for spells anyway. INt and cha can change a bit, depending on wether or not you want to be the party face or knowledgeable

what's the point of CHA if i'm not a partyleader (druid)?

None, really. but there is also no point to strength or dex. Does a druid have diplomacy as a class skill in IWD2?

STR allows them to melee its useful.

And in a spell caster only party this is even more useful and needed as they are ok spell caster/meleers(not a word but you get my point). And with only spell casters everyone will have to pull their wieght in melee as well unless you use many summoned meatshields(not that fun).
