Not exactly, Barbarians also have a better speed and better hit points,d12 per level. When they rage, which is what I think your talking about, thier con goes up as well as thier strength.

Assuming they have the same base STR & CON and the same race, they'll do the same damage.

The Rage is cool, it let's you add Bull's Strength AND Bear's Endurance in a single moment, but the duration is short, and the Barbarian is winded afterwards, i.e. weaker for the same amount of time it was stronger. Also there is a save penalty vs. spells.

If you have a Cleric or such cast the Spells on a Fighter, the duration is MUCH longer, likely to last many battles, and NO ill effects. And the bonuses are the same....

Even when i play Barbarian, i only rage in the early game. Later i use my druid to enchant the Barb untill i have Created STR gloves and CON amulet for him.

One thing though, the Rage ability "stacks" with the spells, so for a short time in major battles the Barbarian is stronger. Remember not to Rage to early if the battle is long, since you'll be weaker for an equal time, not good in long fights.

Also, a F 4 can specialize in a weapon wich adds +2 to damage, a pure Barbarian can't do that. Therefore i alway multi my barb to F4/Barb6. Plus extra feat are always nice. :)

Hope this helps :) :) :)
