Damage reduction

I just got my sorcerer a brand new adventurersrobe.
It has "damage reduction+1 soak 5 damage"

How does this work?

It means (if I remember right) for weapons below +1, you will absorb the first 5 damage.

The first number (if any) is the enchantment bonus that is needed to beat the damage reduction, the second number is how much damage is absorbed, in case the reduction weren't beat.

Its also important to note that magical attacks and elemental attacks ignore the damage soak/damage reduction abilities.
