Favorite race and why

I personally like the dark elf. He was my choice for my prototype character and I liked him very much. I knew that in most games, especially RPGs, the most common magic used by creeps and monsters is fire. So monsters that do high damage with fire were easy to kill, since dark elves have high fire resistance.

The Sanctuary power was useful too, when I was beginning.

I also like playing as the dark elf. Dark Elves are known for not being as magical as the rest of the elves, but are more coordinated and balanced when fighting.

Dark Elves all the way! I played an Imperial once, and... I guess it was ok. I enjoyed the high personality and good Long Blade in the beginning, but ya know, in the long run, any character is pretty much just as good as the next. Orcs have that berserker mode thing, but, if you were a weaker creature, you'd have good long bow or something. So yeah, Dark Elves are definitely my favorite, though I've only played one other race. But it's like Instant Messaging. You have the same color, size, and type of font for like a year, and then you change it, and you just can't get used to anything else. Well, for me anyways. Long live Rutabaga of the Dark Elves! (And long live Dark Elves!)

Dark Elf...why?

Because it's a dark elf. They're just that cool. I can go by other races and say 'hey I'm a dark elf and you're not!' Then the people that aren't dark elves get all sad and go on a suicidal rampage.

They're just that cool.

I feel that High Elf's don't receive the credit they are due. They invented the writing, reading and everything else. They are also far better looking and can kill a Dark Elf with ease.

Dark elf, 'nuff said.

Breton - best for mages by a country mile, High Elves? Pah, don't make me laugh.

Totally agreeable. Breton could destroy the High Elf any day any time. @ Dark Master if you recall that new character idea you gave me, the Breton, he is like the best so thanks.

Hmm... personally I think the high elves are pretty unattractive... but that is subjective I guess.

I tend to to think that female Bretons and Nord males are probably the best-looking races, but that is just my POV ;)

Argonian. That's all I can say. They're the only race I've played so far, and it's probably gonna be a while before I play another race. I just get used to being an argonian, y'know?

Its definatly Redgaurd all the way, they resistances and the adrenaline rush so they can beat people they wouldnt normally be able to, and they are really good at fighting when they start-off.

I also like Dark Elf for mage/fighters.

redguard - good at combat, and adrenaline rush is worth its weight in ebony for a low-level fighter.

I think it's pretty cool seeing the different reasons why people pick their characters. Some for strength, some for attitude, some for appearance. I’m sort of a mix for all, but either way, it’s all good gaming. ;)

Happy to help. When you're done with him you can always try a total tank character. Skilled in just about every weapon type. Take Redguard, Combat as specialisation and The Lady as birthsign, strenght and endurance your two favoured attributes. Fill up Major with Block, Heavy Amour, Long Blade, Light Armour and Axe, Fill up Minor with Armorer, Spear, Blunt Weapon, Medium Armour and either Short Blade or Marksman.

This way you can use ANY weapon you come across apart from one type, and you can use any armour - never have to be worried about the fact that you're skilled in Medium but want the Boots of Blinding speed (happened to me).

The alternative character is the same setup but with a Nord. He will be more all-rounded. The Redguard setup tends to start with Long Blade at 50, and Short Blade at 20 or something. The Nord has more of a mix between skills.

Good luck.

i've played as all of them. unless you roleplay the race, they can turn out pretty much the same
on looks, argonians have pretty colours.
imperials personality and such was very helpful, and my best character is imperial
i find dark elves a little gruff. wood elves irritate me.
but i like all the races really

Ha! I'd like to see your puny, annoying, fragile, "Oh look! I have a Magicka Bonus but major weakness to everything!" High Elf in a battle with my strong, fast, "Hey, I may have a slight weakness to Magicka, but I make up for that with all my cool powers and weapons that'll make you cry like a little baby. A little baby in it's crib" Dark Elf. :p Hehe... Ok, ok, I have nothing against you or your character, I just hate High Elves. Too snotty and think they own the world just because they're tall and have freaky eyebrows. :p

You can get rid of the weaknesses with Spell Absorbation and Sheild and reflect. My High Elves are hardly ever hit with magic anymore. And Eyebrows?? I haven't noticed them yet.... ;)
I wear the Ebony Mail, Robe of Drakes pride, Marara's Ring and that ring I found on Pop *something*'s corpse.

I look so cool. And the easy way I kill people is hit them with a nice paralyze spell and hit them with my Enchanted staff. I don't get hurt and they die easily since I have such a powerful enchantment on my Ebony staff. :D But I don't always have to do this, I can still kill people easily with just my staff. :P

Ohhhh... and did you know that of you wear bound armour, it trains your light armour skill?
:D

And their Magicka bonus (which is higher than the Bretons, and anyway, Bretons are too small, are uneducated-ruffians and look like 6 year olds) can help them start with 270 Magicka! :)

Some of you people need to learn, it's not what you have, it's how you use it. All races are equally good, you just have to figure out how to use them. lifeishell is a good example of someone who knows how to use a high elf.
