Hmmmm... interesting concept. I personally have never heard of a mod like this but do have a solution (might not be exactly what you are looking for though). You can basically put items into any chest and retrieve it later. One that I use often is a basket laying on its side in the docks district. It is right at the bottom of the stairs. Another one that I use is the big round disk looking thing in the Promenade, located above the Adventurers Mart.

Hope this helps some. It will be interesting to find out whether or not a mod exists.

Hmm, the bottomless bag of holding serves as a portable repository quite adequately. It could be much better if you could sort/search items and such but there seems to be a limitation in the engine...

I'd be interested in a portable "bank" mod that lets you sort through all your items, earns you daily interest and such :D How about a pawn shop where you have to pawn a uber weapon to access the buy list...

I haven't seen anything similar though in my recent re-install/mod considerations, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough. Read the sticky for links and let us know if you find something!

Hmmm...

Bottomless bag of holding from Ease-of-Use mod is about it.

I've never cared for the inventory management mini-game ;)

SPOILER

Spellhold, IIRC, but in my current game (I think it's either b/c of Improved Mae'var (Tactics) or Improved Thief Stronghold mods) there was one in Mae'var's guildhall.

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("bag04") is your friend if you can't wait :D

Perhaps not *quite* what you're looking for, but this mod should be out in just a few days: http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php?topic=85.0

Banks...

Well, a worthwhile point to note about storage - if you are planning to play SoA and ToB you can stash your stuff in Watcher's keep and access it from both parts of the game. You can note storage locations in your journal as an aide memoire.

DO NOT store your stuff at Mae'Var's guild hall if you're planning on doing the Shadow thieve's quest - the map is rewritten after you get the guildhall and all your stashed stuff will be deleted

re, re, re : the same goes for...

Watchers Keep also gets closed down on completion, so there isn't a single safe spot that works for the whole of BGII, alas.

This being the case, I've had to wean myself off the deep-rooted impulse to keep everything I've ever found. It *is* possible to stop carrying around dismembered body parts, useless pieces of rock, etc. - at least after a few weeks. Well, the nervous rash can be troublesome, but it's generally not too bad if one uses the cream as directed & wears the cotton mittens to restrain excessive scratching...

...and don't forget to wear the upside down lamp shade thing around the neck to prevent too much licking :D

@ Baldbrad: Anything quest specific can be dumped anywhere as it never vanishes. I usually put notes on the map of where ever I'm using as a base (usually Copper Coronet...you can keep several thousand GPs worth of rogue stones on a table next to the bar for weeks on end and nobody touches them. Amazing.) where different types of junk's being kept; stolen, things for upgrade etc etc.

Whip, horse, dead

Good point about watcher's keep. Before I got bottomless bags of holding, I just used it as a transfer cache between the Shadow Thieves (I loved the irony of storing my gear on a table in the thieve's guild) and the pocket plane.

I'm dragging a LOT less stuff around now. Really, most of the potions and lesser wands you should either use immediately or sell.
