you cant choose kensai when multiclassing? All you get is the original fighter class. Fighter/Thief Fighter/Mage and so on...have I missed something?

That's right, no kits for multi-classes (unless you use Shadowkeeper)

You didn't miss anything. You can't choose a kit while multiclassing.

Right, completly forgot them ;)
Gnomes are always ---/Illusionist instead of ---/Mage, so you can have a
Fighter/Illusionist, Thief/Illusionist and Cleric/Illusionist without using SK. But I don't consider specialist mages the same as kits, so my reply was correct anyway :P ;)
