We happy few

At the request of Geezer (and to me it makes good sense) I've opened a new thread for we happy few chatters and gamers of all things PoR. So, no real topic in here so you could class this thread as 'misc' if you have no specific thread, questions or comments.
For myself, I am a self proclaimed Perpetual Newbie - always at the beginning of everything. Yeah, I know we have profiles we could fill in but really, does everyone look at them? It's somewhat less formal to say what you're about in a thread, anyways. Friendlier I guess.
So, I haven't been playing much what with moving house and the kids all wanting computer time 24/7. But I'll give you a brief rundown of my party as it stands so far :-
One Monk, one cleric, two sorcerers, a rogue, a multiclass cleric/fighter. The monk is handy as an all-round kind of guy and gets some class specific items early on in the game. They help flesh his abilities out pretty well. With the exception of Faeril and Jaril I chose the others purely for their specific skills - turning abililty, opening doors/locks, spell casting etc. The races of each class I chose according to their strengths, like my halfling rogue. Organising my party this way makes it easier for me than multiclassing and having to think too much about who's going to be doing what. Their roles are pretty much cut out for them. Not everyone thinks like this though so maybe some of you out there can share some details of combo's you've tried and have worked (or not) for you.
"Spock! Are you out of your Vulcan mind?" - 'Bones' McCoy.
