Bugged quest?

just destroyed the allseeing eye (didnt see that one coming tho did he) and went to take the rod back to "the avatar". However, no dialogue is initiated, it just says, "avatar has nothing to say to you". How do i end the quest? i must be missing something
Incidently, tried reloading, restarting and patching but still he has nothing to say. Maybe hes just shy

Hmm...
Nevermind....On consideration, I don't have a clue why they would not respond, unless it's the Windows XP bug.

I believe I've had this happen before, but it was a long time ago. It was a Win-XP machine and I think the game was modded. I wasn't feeling good with my game anyways, so I began a new one and the problem didn't appear again
You can always CLUA in the reward item and the quest XP (ca. 40000 per head?), then head over to smack Gaal (the cultists should be hostile if you've killed the Unseeing Eye). It doesn't totally disrupt the game, but it's annoying

Did you speak to the worshippers outside his temple first? After you've done that, the final reward giving scene should start of its own accord. If you did already then I'm stumped and its probably a bug.

u have to talk to the priests outsite the temple,
if still no talking walk out and walk in again maybe they will talk now.
it happens a lot in my game (also with win xp) some char. are to busy when i enter the building just walk out and in again and they will talk to u.

Tried walking in, out, shaking it all about, etc. Nothin worked so i edited the game and gave myself the shield and xp.

I have exactly the same problem as you (yes, windowsXP), and i have tried everything of the post, and nothing, the avatar has no intention to talk with me.
