Saemon not teleporting me..bug?

Saemon not teleporting me..bug?

As anyone experienced this? In spellhold after driving off Irenicus, I go to the top level and meet up with Saemon in the hallway. We have our discussion and then I agree to go with him on his ship. He says he'll use his magic to teleport us but then he only teleports himself! My party is left there in Spellhold and the only way out is the Underdark exit. wtf? I don't remember this being an issue the other times I've played this part. Some kind of bug?

Do you have an older version of the Unfinished Buisiness Mod installed ? If that's the case, download the newest version (v.8 I think), it fixes that bug.

Hmm...

Isn't there a key to be had that will open the spellhold door? IIRC, I just hiked back to Brynnlaw to hook up with him.

*shrugs* Just go to the harbour.. if I recall you should be able to meet up with him there. If not, then.. well I'm wrong. :p

You can't go to the harbor unless Saemon teleports you out. And since he didn't Luther is essentially stuck in Spellhold. That had been a known bug in UB v6 and was fixed in v7.

Numinor--thanks. I thought that may have been a bug with Unfinished Business. I have version 8 downloaded and will install. Hopefully this will fix it.

The key is only for Irenicus' portal and doesn't open the asylum door. You can use it but then you miss out on the entire boat escape, vorpal sword blade, and the good loot that the fish people have (Tzu-Zan's bracers a must for any monk, wave shaft and the cloak of mirroring). Without Saemon transporting you out you're trapped in there. One way past this bug was to use CLUA Console to move your party to the area outside of the asylum and then again to respawn Saemon so you could talk to him and agree to meet him back in Brynnlaw. V.8 of UB supposedly fixes that particularly annoying bug and some others like the Gorje Underhill bug. I'm playing with that version now but haven't gotten far enough to swear things work correctly now. I hope they do because its a neat mod.

I thought Tzu-Zan's Bracers were from the expansion. Are you sure you don't mean the Gauntlets of Crushing?

Perhaps I'm confused. - I would NEVER miss the Sahaguin city voluntarily ;) Unfortunately, I've blown up my old save games and sent Velketor, Inziladun and Deodand into electronic Nirvana so I can't check :eek:

Yup. I reinstalled Unfinished Business 8 and the teleporting worked again. Good stuff.

On a related note, and I *swear* I'm not trying to drive people nuts, but version 9 was released last night. Nothing major really, unless you've experienced problems with either the Spanish or German translations. It does, however, include a new component that will restore Anomen's original pre-game portrait.
