Resurrecting a character

Dose anyone know if it is possible to resurrect a fallen character?
When I first started playing BG2 shadows of Amn one of the characters died, cannot remember her name but she was the very first one in the beginning, think she was a mage.
The reason I ask is because I just finished the first part of the prison and don’t want to get to far into the game and leave her behind if there is any possible way to bring her back, especially if she was a mage. I’m finding magical scrolls all over the place but none of my party members can use them (I’m playing solo)

You can resurrect a character at a temple. Or a preist can get a resurrection spell at later levels. Jaheira has a spell called Harpers Call in her spellbook that is a ressurection spell as well. Any character can be resurrected except the main character. Once he dies, it's game over.
One thing though, if a character dies, and you remove them from your party, they are gone for good, as you have to have the characters portrait to cast the spell on.

Also if you play on core & above (game difficulty), if a character dies from an especially gruesome death (chunked to pieces, e.g. frozen/petrified then shattered, disintegrated, etc), the character portrait disappears and they are gone for good. No resurrection

We call it "The Wand of Resurrection"
When you don't have a cleric with some type of resurrection spell then you only have two choices. Either take the body to a temple and pay to have the party member resurrected or use the "wand". There are two Wands of Resurrection in the game. One you can buy in the Adventurers Mart and the other is loot from the Mekrath quest in the Temple sewers. The WoR can be used by anyone. Enjoy! Besides carrying stinky rotting dead bodies around is nasty.

also you can use scrolls..
also, both will quickly and instantly heal a character if you don't have clerics handy...

Well... Guess it is to late her portraits been gone for some time now, dang. She sure was a cutie. These RPGs are really something else. Only wish the game had come with an instruction manual.

Just make sure that if you'r romancing with a character and he/she dies, it might stop the romance right there - even if you resurrect them!

When you're talking about Imoen (the Thief/Mage), she can't die in the very first areas, because she is essential to the game's plot.
When she's about to die she'll leave the party and say something like "I'm not going to die down here!" (did you get that dialogie ?). You'll encounter her again later.

And you can sell the wands and buy them again (or steal them if you have the guts to do so) for fully recharged wand of ressurrection. Eternal life is just ahead of you!!!

Bummer.
However, the game does come with an instruction manual. There should be a version of it in your install directory, or you can go to a site like
http://www.replacementdocs.com
You can always just reload the game - save often, you won't regret it.

Always carry 2 of these fully charged and abuse them, including User's cheese ~ a free heal can help a lot in a tough battle (Tactics mod has plenty).

That's absolutely right, so you should be very careful, cause it even stops the dialogues from any other character. So be sure you're preped and ready before going up against a lair of beholders.
(highlight ~ Spoiler ~)
Or even Kangax the Lich, he has some horrible spells, including imprisonment

A thought
If you have clua codes enabled (Debug Mode =1 in Baldur.ini) ypu can summon them back - CLUA code Imoen 13 or some such (If it was Imoen)

But it will totally break romances, I imagine

When romancing, you really have to care about your loved one (well, kind of like real life)...

The files could possibly be corrupted
The only chick that I have in the party is the married one whose husband we found dead
I don’t want to get to far into the game just to find out that something was corrupted and have to start over again, that would suck.

The files aren't corrupted and your character isn't dead. From what I understand you lost Imoen (the first character to talk to you in BG2). Because she's crucial to the plot, she can't be killed inside the first dungeon, but if she takes a lot of damage she'll run away. Just keep playing, you'll see her again when you're out of the dungeon.
On an unrelated note, were you somehow affiliated with sharereactor, or does your name accidently coincide with someone else's?

With Shadowkeeper you can still advance the romance to the point where it was before. With no problems what so ever. Even if you'll feel it's going to fast.

Well, last night we finally escaped from the prison and went into the outside world. A movie came on, everybody started fighting and the enemy has kidnapped the missing chick (even though she was not in the party)
This is a great game but there is no doubt that I am going to have to play it twice because there are too many things in the game that I do not know how to do such as casting and meming spells, are berserkers even allowed to cast/mem spells?
I have tons of magic spells and neither my party nor I can use any of Em’
I searching for identity cubes all over, and finely found one, I go to use it and when it ask if I would like to identify the item with a scroll or spell, however both boxes are grayed out and wont allow me to identify anything. I cannot wait to finish the game and play it again. The second time playing is going to be much easier.
