Character Exchange & Modwatch (PC only)

Just ideas that popped into my head when I was walking the dog just now...

1. Modwatch

A group of two or three people who review the new mods for the community, we have such a tight knit community here at game banshee that I reckon we could make it work. Obviously these would have to be people that had quite a bit of free time, but quite soon they would have (between them) checked out most of the well known mods out there, and be able to give you personal advice on them, rather than whatever the review says, and they may even discover some lesser known gems for the community.

2. Character Exchange

I was recently talking to Woops on MSN and I sent him a saved file with my character, just so he could get a flavour of how an unarmoured wizard worked, and it got me thinking that we could have a system whereby people can briefly describe any characters they have in a thread (maybe this one?) and if somebody is interested in the character, whether or not its to see if they want to become a vampire, or which house to choose, or if they want to play the game as your character, they can leave you an email address, and you can send them a recent saved file.

I'll start with the character exchange and see if it catches on

Legolas, Wood Elf Thief/Archer

Member of Thieves Guild, Morag Tong, Hhaalu, about level 10, have stolen full set of glass armour from ghostgate. Light Armour, Short Blade, Marksman, Sneak, Security.

Amm'eg, Breton Dark Wizard

Head of Telvanni, head of mages guild, head of temple, beaten Tribunal, about level 40, long blade, good range of spells, enchanted Deadric Claymore, Deadric boots, greeves, and curassis, ebony bracers and pauldrons, Helm of Orean Bearnclaw,
Long Blade, Mysticsm, Alteration, Heavy Armour, Destruction, Conjuration, Alchemy.

If you want to try either of these characters tell me which one, and leave your email address here. I had problems getting started on Alchemy, never wanted to try it, but now that I know what its like on the later levels, I don't want to start a game without it, so if you can't see the point to alchemy, I suggest you have a look.

These characters will work but will be dodgey without Tribunal or Bloodmoon. (First time you load will be a pain - can't find trueflame, can't find journal entry X, etc)

This seems like a good idea to me. Although I suck at reviewing.

I think a mod watch review team is an awesome idea!
Maybe as a start we could get a review thread going that is made a sticky and people can post reviews of the mods they currently have installed.

I'm not sure how well a chacracter exchange would work. I think it is a great idea, but I'm wondering if people would need to have the same mods installed as the original creator for it to work.
I know, for example, that in multiplayer BG2 games etc. all party participants need to have the same mods, and they need to have been installed in precisely the same order.

When Woops and I had a look at each others characters we had different mods installed, hell I even had Tribunal, and it took me a long time to load up that with the journal and stuff, but he could still load my game, even though he didn't have tribunal installed, so mods shoulnd't be too much of a problem.

Somebody sent me a PM requesting pic of the characters, if you want to do that, could you do it in the thread to keep it alive? I know it sounds dumb, but if the thread dies there will be no character exchange.
