Character Design

I hope they have some more freedom as far as character design goes...You know? Different races and body types I think would be great. I'd really like to have a giant Hutt as my jedi...harhar. JK...although you could probably have him slam his tail down to stun enemies...

This is probably not possible, but I'd also like to design some of my own force powers...you know? certain kinds of a attacks, jumps or mind powers that may give you an interesting attack...nothing too unfair though...

another cool thing would be (and this isn't really character design) some sort of online play...I don't know how it would be done, perhaps something like Diablo 2, or maybe special on-line missions, small ones that take less than an hour to complete. Maybe alittle like black and white...where you still get the benefits of using your character, but you don't have as dire of consequences for failing...ok, that's a little unfair...but something like that.

You know for an exalted member, that post made absolutely no sense...as you can see, this is my first post. Therefore I'd like a little more clarification...What is SWG? Some White Guy, Sew With Guts? Something With Glue?

Furthermore...what part of my post are you replying to? There were three things...And yet you wrote a three words sentence...if you could call it that...about the entire post...I wonder if all of your exalted posts are this well written...

Anyway, back to my orginal post...I think another interesting idea would be learning from different NPC's...Rather than just gaining XP and using that...Say you could talk to a certain NPC about becoming more skilled with a lightsaber, while another would help you become more skilled with a blaster...that sort of thing...Like in fallout, where talking to certain characters allowed you to gain more unarmed skills... This way it would also be advantageous to keep NPC's in your group also, in case they have more to teach you...or perhaps you could just learn from observation.

Curry, try being a bit more informative next time with your posts. Alpha Hazard, welcome to GameBanshee. As far as "exalted" status is concerned, it's just a certain number of posts, and proves nothing. Hope you enjoy your stay. :)

SWG is Star Wars Galaxies. It's a MMORPG (Massive multiplayer online roleplaying game). In Kotor there is no MP so if you wanna online play and non-linear plot go play it then :p

Ah, Galaxies, yeah, ok...But you cannot play a Jedi in that can you? Plus, monthly fees are a total drag if you are already paying for high speed internet, netflix, and school...Thanks for the suggestion though

By the way, if you wanna play a...hottie Twi'lek, you can do so in jedi academy...which is also an excellent game...although I've only played the demo...

Galaxies is a horribly boring game. You can play a Jedi but it takes waaaaay to much time of doing boring crap to open a force sensitive slot on your account.

Yeah, I figured it was something like that...

Anyway, I though of another cool thing for SL...Unarmed Combat...you know? Something like Marital...hehe, I mean Martial arts, I think it'd be pretty cool...especially for the scoundrel type character...

I read in the unofficial FAQ higher repair skills will determine to what length you can upgrade a weapon...That's all well and good, but will I be able to use different characters to do that sort of thing then? Or use computers..I remember in the original, when trying to repair HK-47, he was always getting hurt (although quite entertaining in itself) so I never got to learn anything about him...Also, when trying to save the Mandalorian in the Sith Academy, I had no computer skill so he ended up gettin gleft there...I'd like to be able to use a different character for that sort of thing..you know? I mean, it's the though that counts, so it shouldn't matter who is the conduit for rescue, right?

On one hand, I agree that other characters should be able to do things that your PC can't, but I think that would lead towards a cookie cutter style of gameplay where you could do everything the first time through. One of the best things about KOTOR is the fact that you can find and do different stuff each time through the game.

Actually, KotOR is more the cookie cutter style, in that it isn't challenging at all to do almost everything on your first run through, with your PC.

Not quite everything. One example has already been mentioned and that's repairing HK on your own. There's a number of things but many of them depend on whether or not you're roleplaying correctly or just doing as you said and just going along and doing everything the first time through.

I totally understand that...But I ended up having to reload because I tried to interogate the mandalorian prisoner on Korriban, after I ahd already let the rouge students go (I found out later anyway that I could lie to Uthar anyway, but that's beside the point)...

I definitely understand the argument though...In fact, giving it more thought makes me realize that it's really a lot like cheating...but instead of using one character to cheat you use several...

But I still maintain my ground about un-armed combat, because that would just be sweet!

A Hutt would be very dumb and unfair. It would be cool to include other races but they wouldn't include Hutts. They would probably include Twi'Leks, Quarrens, maybe even Ithorians.

i would like to see the kind of customisation you can get in wrestling games. maybe not so much freedom though but something along those lines.with more races :D

correct me if im wrong...

I heard Bioware moved on so we might get a crapy action rpg with just 1 player sort of like Baldur's gate dark alliance 1 and 2 or somthing like that.

lets only hope that the new developer will stay faithful to the first game and improve upon the idea :)

i'd like to see a little longer game with higher character leveling. It'd be hard to balance so you dont end up with an uber jedi, but at level 20 there were still a few powers and feats that i wanted to add to my char. maybe an increasing difficulty based on your level would work. imagine taking on 3 dark jedi with a level 40 character. force wave and they're all dead. they'd definately need to balance out the game, but it'd change the pattern a bit...no more "master speed, leap attack, flurry, leap attack, flurry, leap attack...(5 minutes later)...grenade, leap attack, flurry..."

I agree being a hut would be unfair although perhaps slightly interesting. I also agree that including new races for your character to be would be cool, and i would like to be a Quarren and a Twi'Lek, however i don't like the idea of being ithorian, because they are cowardly and mostly useless. I would like to also be a Nogrhi, Selkath, Ehcani, Mandalorian, Kel Dor, or Zalbrak. These would be interesting races to be.

Role Playing

Hey, guys... What species are you? I know I'm human. I role play and want to be in the game. I make my character look as much as myself as possible and equip him with I'd most likely use. I'm still kinda sore about only having one ear, though... Did y'all notice that? What's that all about?! Oh, and another thing, Did you see the sodier type guy in the trailer/walkthrough? He looks a lot like an adult Dustil. A former dark side user that went light side and is a soldier sounds pretty cool. One last thing... I think it would be cool to lose a limb in the game like our other Jedi friends and get a sweet upgradeable droid replacement... What do you think?
