HotU Prestige classes and item use

Hey there
another weird question...
The Rakshasa Crossbow (a fine weapon indeed) states that you need to be an outsider in order to wield it. AFAIK, you can't equip items while in Wild Shape (though haven't played a druid in HotU)... I noticed the Outsider Shape feat... What's up with that?
Same deal with the 10th level Pale Master ability of Deathless Mastery and the use of the Katana of the Mummy Lord.
Any info about that much appreciated.
Peace

Well, if you reach a 10th level of one of the prestige classes, you stop being human, elf dwarf... and become an outsider. Spells that don't work on outsiders (such as hold person) won't work on you anymore and you can use some weapons specifically created for this.
Does this answer your question?

Where did you get this info from?.
I've always thought outsiders was races from outside the mortal realm (Thieflings for instance, Rakshasa' etc)
I've seen no indication of my epic characters becomming outsiders myself. (not that it isn't possible, I've just never come acrossed this info)

I don't think that any NWN prestige classes transform you into an outsider (though RDD and Palemaster do change your race).
I noticed the Outsider Shape feat... What's up with that?
Outsider Shape is a shapeshifting ability. Once you use this feat you can shift into an Azer Chieften, Rakshasa or Death Slaad. It will change your race to outsider, but you will be unable to manipulate your inventory whilst shifted.
Ousiders are basically creatures not from the current plane of existance. I might be wrong but if you were to goto say the ethereal plane, you will become an outsider and Banishment etc. will affect you.

Hey
Thanks for alll questions.
To Noober:
I agree with Banishment for it sends you back to your plane of origin, but it doesn't make you an outsider as far is immunities are concerned...
To Rob-hin:
I agree with Xandax: where did you get THAT info from??? None of the prestige classes used in NWN and sequels become Outsiders at 10th level, unless this is a NWN rule change?
I'd like to hear more about that...
Peace

First, a little background about me, all the rules I know are from actual ad&d. I know about rules changing for NwN, but don't know EVERY change. So I could be wrong.
So, where did I get it from?
From my ad&d books. I checked up on some of it and I was partially wrong.
The Pale master gets the Deathless Mastery feat at level 10, he becomes half a mummy so to speak. (according to my ad&d book) So he doesn't become an outsider. Same goes for an Arcane Archer because these Prestige Classes are more like a job then an actual change of the person.
To clarify, an example of a prestige class that does become an outsider. This is an obvious one btw:
Acolyte of the Skinn - The AotS strips the hide of a demon or devil and fuses it with tis own. After 10 levels of AotS, he becomes an outsider since the skin and himself are joined for life.
So it's not with all classes. The DD becomes a half-dragon, so he is no nonger commen, same principle.
But since my theory no longer stands, perhaps they made those requirements so that a character can't use those weapons since they are too uber good.
