How often do they happen...I have Mazzy in my party - while she is good with a bow (and I've never used her) - I'm an archer and I'll keep all the arrows to myself, thank you.
I was going to make Mazzy one of my tanks (with a lot of help with belts of Giant Str).
What would you all do with her. (I'm keeping her, so no replies of 'Just dump her and pick up so and so.')
If it would help, here's what I have
Me (Male, Archer)
Anomen (tank 1 - FoA)
Mazzy (tank 2)
Jahiera (tank 3 - Staves of varying ability)
Aerie (never tried her romance - Crom Faer & slings)
Nalia/Immy (They will get the bare bones of arrows I don't use)

Mazzy can be a great tank. Last time I used her she was my only tank. Why not let her dual wield short swords?

Why don't your archer specialize in xbows?
there are good xbows available and plenty of very good bolts available.
With Anomen and Jaheira you have already two tanks (IMO give Crom to Anomen), then you have two super archers and lastly two spelcasters, a balanced team!

I'm rather fond of having Mazzy use Halberds...

Is that poosible?
I always thought Halflings couldn't use halberds due to their size, but maybe that was NWN, (don't remember)

Yes it's indeed in NWN(and other games with newer edition rules) that small sized creatures can't use LARGE weapons...
I think it's good, I can't imagine a halfling or dwarf beeing 90 cm (I guess that would be 3 ft, or something), using a halberd that's perhaps 2,5 M(8,5 ft) that would look kinda weird

True, True,
But it would be really cool to se a tiny gnome or halfling beat the cr*** out of a giant with a huge halberd though

@KoreeGhan and Asriel
That would be funny seeing a halfling attempting to use a halberd or 2 Hand-sword. (Kinda like giving one to my 6 year old daughter, in a china store. Just close your eyes and wince.
)

I hadn't thought of that, but I have already put 4 profs into LB-from the start. I guess I could start using them for Xbow.
Thanks again all.

mazzy can dual wield as soon as she gets the first proficiency point you can control. bang it in two weapon style and her thaco is good enough to last until you get a second point there. then you can make her proficient in something else.
this strategy is best used in a smaller party, so she can level fast. Mazzy is currently weilding the improved sword of arvoreen (though if i can get something else i will as i finally have enough boots of speed for my whole party) and frostreaver, soon to become axe of the unyielding. with ilbratha and mirror image she 0wns the rest of my party on kill count - that's over a paladin PC with carsomyr and Ano with the crom and the FoA. she puts some serious hurt on the fire giants.
