Ive searched the forums for a fix for this but i failed to find one, they all seem to dealing with bugs envolving dermins apearence. I have killed dermin after the third encounter and I had the "dawn of a new day" speach before kiling him so im not stuck there. The problem im having is i cant get jaheira to inititate the next romance dialouge. I had the "it is time rested" dialouge when i clicked rest and then i left it on pause for and hour and a half, un paused it and nothing happened. I checked out shadow keeper and LOVETALK is 58 and jaheira romance active is a 2 so the romance is still going on. How can i trigger the romance to continue?

I had a few problems with Jaheira as well - I couldn't even get Dermin to appear the second time. While I'm sure I missed some things (killing Dermin for one), I found by bumping up the LoveTalk variable, I could get things moving again, and reached the conclusion.

I got stuck at 53 (bumped it up to 54), at 55 (bumped it up to 56) and at 59 (bumped it up to 62). Seeing as you're at 58 right now, I'd suggest bumping it to 62. That should get things moving forward.

BTW - I never used the 'Pause' method - didn't want to just leave my computer running for an hour. All I did was use SK to modify the timer variables - JAHEIRAROMANCE being the main one, although at this stage you'd want to check TERMINSELAPPEAR as well. Change them to 1, and the next dialogue should happen immediately (although you still may have to rest outside if that's what it takes to trigger it).

Thanks for that but it hasnt realy seemed to help which isnt good. Any other suggestions? Ive tried resting in the wild and thats not helped either. I dont suppose I could send someone the save file to have a mess with to try and get the romance going again?

Well, looking at your save game probably wouldn't help ... it could be affected by whatever mods you have installed, and possibly even the OS you're running under. Obviously you're setup is different from mine, seeing as you managed to get Dermin to appear!

All I can recommend is what worked for me ... try some different values for LOVETALK if 62 doesn't work. Basically I would just bump it by one, load the game, see if dialogue initiated, and if not try sleeping outside. Keep repeating until something happened ... as I said, it worked for me!

If all else fails, I guess you could just use SK to give yourself the 100K XP and the Harpers pin that you're supposed to get from Terminsel. Maybe not the same 'sense of accomplishment', but the effect is the same ...

You've fallen into one of the most infamous bugs in BG2, my friend. Here's how you clean it up without going through all of the variables, either with CLUA or Shadowkeeper (since unless you really know your way around, you can seriously muck up your game). If you have Throne of Bhaal, by all means, download and install the official patch. It contains the fix for the Jaheira romance made by Kevin Dorner and Manveru (an old member of this site). If you don't have ToB, I'm not sure if the official patch for SoA contains the fix. Go to Kevin Dorner's Baldurdash site (if its still up), and download the fixpack from there.

Once you've found the proper fix, load a savegame prior to whatever the problem was (either the Dawn of a new day speech or Dermin).

If your problem is with the next love dialogue, I think you need to set one of the romance commands to 0 (which ever variable deals with the timer).

Sorry if I'm not much help, I haven't played the game in a long time and this is all I know about the subject.

Im in chapter 6, and have pretty much nothing left to do other than the jaheira romance/ harper quest.

I can't remember the order of events, but have you slept outdoors?
