What class /should/ Minsc be?

He's not a Ranger, and I'm sick of him gaining useless abilities as one.

The guy is either a Berserker or a Barbarian, but I can't decide which fits him better.

Please help me choose which class to SK Minsc into.

My 2 gold worth

Well, he rocked as a Paladin (Undead Hunter, with true sight as well). I think someone hacked him to Assasin, which would be pretty hilarious.

But actually, I think Ranger is a good choice, just hack his special abilities to..ummm....well...anything useful. Charm animal, forsooth :p I think next time I'll give him a real enrage, and maybe mirror image.

i think he's more a berserker than a barbarian, coming from the halls of rashemann and all. i never got why he was a ranger...

A bunch of people at Bioware used to play RPGs together. When they created BG1 and BG2, they based some of the NPCs on their old pen-and-paper characters. Minsc was one of them. So were Anomen, Bodhi, and Xan, although Xan was originally a cool Monk/Kensai type of character and his new incarnation in BG1 was unrecognizable, if not downright insulting. :) This was discussed in a couple of interviews, but I can't find the links to them. Does anyone know where we could find them? Knowing the history of Minsc's character would shed some light on "what he's supposed to be".

Wow, that's goin back. I haven't seen those interviews in a long time. I'd really like to see someone unearth them too. Tha origins of some of the NPC's were quite interesting, namely Minsc.

He was always getting his party into trouble with his obnoxious behavior. Imagine how fun it would be to play a character like that in a PnP game with other players. :)

That's just what I was thinking. Now I'm quite ready to call up some old buddies... :)

First, however, I'd like to find said interviews.
