Dual Kensai/Thief Problem

okay i originally made a kensai and planned to dual class it to a thief at level 9 as i imagined a kensai/Thief level 20+ would be immensely powerful because i can wield items such as Holy Avenger and actually wear armour. (using the use any items skill of course)

Ok, dualled at level 9, after becoming a thief i realised in horror that i CANNOT use ANY armour, ranged weapons etc.... is this supposed to happen or is this a bug? anyway my Kenai/Thief has regained its kensai powers now (level 9/10) and still cannot use any protective gear or ranged weapon.

A Kensai can't wear armour, even if dual-classed. (Although I belive the "Use Any Item" ability overrides that).
Much like the Wizard Slayers abilities in case of dual-class and so on with other restrictions of classes.

You even mention yourself, that the intent is to use Use Any Item from the thiefs abilities, to make your kensai able to use armour.

but it is a bit strange that while the kensai class is inactive that my thief wasnt capable of wearing armour... im pretty sure my old kensai/mage could wear gauntlets and armour though hmmmm.....

yes you are correct in my intent, but to get 'use any item' i would have reached maybe spellhold and the thought of having nothing on my body, arm and head, attacking the likes of Firkraag bodhi is horrifying, as i thought i couldve at least used leather armour after dualing. Anyway thanks for clearing it up i cant believe i didnt know this after beating bg2 about 7 times, looks like this sums up one thing.....
