PC can't speak to anyone

My PC sorceror can't speak to anyone. I'm trying to do the Illithium quest, and I just need to talk to the priest to get the final xp for the quest. Thing is though, when my PC tries to talk to anyone, the text "*insert name*- has nothing to say.". This makes it hard for the few people that will only speak to my PC (when Keldorn asks, they demand to speak to my PC).
Keldorn, my party leader, can speak to people....only my PC can't.
I have banter packs and NPC flirt packs installed, and I've done some editting with SK, though I don't think about anything that could muck around with this.

Hey, had the same problem. Try staying in one of the inns and resting or doing a small side-quest.
Eventually, after a couple of tries, she will speak to you again.
I assume it's just a game bug.

This is a common problem, that's been reported very often here in the forum. It especially targets XP users. The latest patches fix this--and you should download 'em, anyway.
Also check out Balderdash's patches, which are not a substitute, but fix another subset of BG2 issues.

I do have the latest patches, I believe, and this isn't the "XXX cannot speak to you because XXX is busy"; this is a different bug.
Resting didn't work, so I'm doing other quests and then I'll probably return to see. If it doesn't work, I'll just SK the experience for the quest.
I think it might be caused by the multi-stronghold quest (I'm a mage, but I wanted the keep). I refused Lathander's temple, so I think that might've interfered with my main character speaking to the other temples as well.
