Do you mean you can't unzip them to the specified file directory of your choice? Surely your zip manager lets you choose that directory. If it does, just select the override subdirectory. That's it.

my zip manager does not give me the unzip option. So I was wondering what should I click- add, extract, copy?

Ok, in my experience, the extract button is the button that lets you "unzip" files to directories. So click on the zip files, then your winzip will unzip the files that are contained in the zip file. Then click on extract and the program will give you an option for where to place the unzipped files into. Choose your override directory in BG2. Hope that this helps.

If you're not all that familiar with Winzip, then I'd suggest using the wizard interface instead of the classic one. Open up Winzip, click the options button, point to the Misc tab, and select the "Next time start Winzip with the wizard interface." Now try unzipping your file again, and you should be able to select the destination directory by pointing to Browse. Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem and it is driving me nuts. I am playing the game in multiplayer (my own party). I downloaded the Bonus Merchants patch; unzipped it directly to the baldursgate2 override directory; the merchants do not appear at either the Adventurer's Mart or the Copper Coronet. I have attempted to clear my cache, but this has not helped. Please somebody help.

Maybe it has something to do with playing the game in Multiplayer?

I have done this numerous times. I am NOT a computer expert so forgive the crude explanation. 1. click on download link off of this cite 2. Winzip automatically opens once the download is finished (10seconds) 3. Winzip asks me which directory i wish to unzip the file to 4. I insert into the override directory which is branched just below the baldurs2 game file (C :) 5. no merchants 6. i ran Disk Cleanup on Windows, but there are no temp files to remove on the C: (could there be another cache area for the game that i need to flush/)

Any help would be nice.

My friend plays the game in multiplayer and was able to see the merchants.

Did you ever look if the files really are in the override folder?
If they are, and the merchants aren't there, perhaps the files are corrupted or the download went wrong.

I've also had the same problem I unzipped them and nothing happened they simply don't make and appearance in the game.

I believe you have to add the merchants before beginning a new game, you can't add them mid-play.

I've played threw the game once then before I started a new game I installed the bonus merchants and they still did not appear so hmmmm what could be the problem.

As far as I know you can add them mid-play, they just won't appear in the savegames that were made before that.

Okay. Look, Nick: tell us *exactly* what you're doing. Tell us the name of the utility you're using to extract the merchants, what you click on, in order, and what responses you receive.

This is largely an aside.

In the game I just started, for some reason, Joluv isn't in the Copper Coronet. He's outside it. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

can anyone tell me what Joluv and Deidre look like, so if I see them somewhere in the Slums or the Waukeen's Promenade I can identify them.

to Fable: I click on the icon in GB to download, then I choose to open the file from its current location, after a download period the Winzip screen pops up. Then I higlight the two areas, press copy, move or extract and then a screen pops up asking me to specify where exactly am I supposed to copy the files to. I chose the overiride directory and then press ok. after a brief period of time I am back at the Winzip screen. Hope this helps!
:)
