Soloing w/ Kensai

Post by ZachL »

Hey all, is soloing easier or harder than group? I'm fairly inexperienced with the game(about 30 hours invested with a 6 person sp party) and was thinking of soloing with a Kensai warrior proficient in two handed sword and grand mastery in Katana's. Is this feasible or will certain enemies pound me into the ground? Anyone have any strategies for this endeavor? All opinions welcome, thanks..
p.s. I want to start this character in about 2 hours so some advice wont be useful after 10:30 pacific or so.. :)

I started soloing only after my first run through with a party of 5. If you are not in any particular hurry, I humbly suggest that you finish your present game first. You will then have a good idea of where you can get some of the cool items, what easy quests you can do for the xp, which to avoid at all costs, etc.
Advantage of soloing: You don't have to share xp, thus you level up faster than you would in a party.
Disadvantage: Unless you are a really good or experienced player, you need to reload more! That's why I don't really recommend you going solo now...
With a solo Kensai, you won't be killing dragons and Adamantite golems in a hurry until you are at a sufficiently higher level (say, 14th-15th) or you have killer weapons.
If you are in a hurry, and don't have the time to reinvent wheels, why not check this out: http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/strategyguides.php
