Darts do 1d3 damage.
How does one make a 3 sided dice?

Nice idea, but a little stats shows you have a 1 in 8 chance of getting 3 :)
Cheers Astafas.

Use a foursided die, and if it's a "4" throw again.

Would be easiest to use a four-sided dice and write "re-throw" on one side, no?

Honestly, don't any of you play PnP DnD?
you roll a regular 6 sided die and just use 2 numbers instad of one:
1 or 2 is 1.
3 or 4 is 2.
5 or 6 is 3.

Rolling a 3-sided die is easy. What I want to know is how do you get a 1-sided die?

In D&D we always threw a D6 as stated above and 1-2=1 3-4=2 and 5-6=3 its simple

If you want complicated you could always roll a d12:

1,4,7,10 = 1
2,5,8,11 = 2
3,6,9,12 = 3

Oooooorrrrr..........

How about...a d10+d6-1 (generateing a 1-15)
1,4,7,10,13 = 1
2,5,8,11,14 = 2
3,6,9,12,15 = 3

Of course you could always create an Excel spreadsheet and then enter the following formula:

=(int(rand()*3)+1)

It will roll a D3, in fact if you want you can hit F9 and re-roll many times.

;)

Comon. That is like math. I like the idea 1-2=1 3-4=2 5-6=3. The odds are still fair.
