Korgan still leaves me. this time i'm fighting then suddenly he just says that i'm not worth his time and he leaves. Korgan is stupid. how the hell am i supposed to keep him in my party?
my reputation is 19 is that why? it probably is but why in the hell does Korgan not give me a -2 reputation like viconia if he's goin to leave all the time. and i'm in the planar sphere so how am i supposed to lose just one point of reputation? I need serious help.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

The -2 to reputation with respect to viccy is because you are adding a drow to your party. Her race is a negative modifier towards all others in the Amnish region.
I don't remember if you can leave the sphere or not. Try punching a solamnic Knight. Maybe that will drop you rep down enough to the point where Korgan won't leave. The easiest thing to do is install the patch which keeps all NPC's around regardless of your reputation. I use it all the time even though I still try to stay true to form, however, there are too many things you do in the game that raise your reputation.
someone posted a great thread a while back regarding reptuation and the fact the game should keep two rep.s, one internal and one external. I think the user's name was two, mebbe wrong. Anyway, I'll search for the thread and post a link as it is very good reading and sort of follow the theme of this thread.

Korgan doesn't like do-gooders. It's as simple as that. One of the best things I like about BG2 is that the NPCs don't act like mindless robots; tools to get your job done. They won't always agree with what you decide, and if you go out of your way to help others, then he's going to find more interesting people to side with. If you wanted evil characters in your party you'd have to keep your reputation low. Rob a few innocents blind or something. Get into trouble.
As for Viconia, she's a Drow, and not many people like Drow, and rightly so. In general they're not very nice people. The -2 reputation modifier reflects the change in the way the public treat you harbouring what they believe to be one of the most evil and dangerous creatures to exist.

Well, yeah.

In the manual it states, "Each party member has five different states determined by their alignment. These states are happy, neutral, unhappy, angry, and breaking point. Each of these states correspond to the four different verbal dialogue cues that a character has..." And there's also a reference table on page 240.
A good character "breaks" (leaves your ranks) if your rep drops to 2. An evil character breaks if your rep rises to 19. Before then, you should be getting verbal cues that they're unhappy.
I've never tried to put Korgan back in a party he's left because of being too "goody-goody," but you might try. At the very least, you can get back your inventory from him.

But you'll have to drop that rep at least one point in order to get him in. If you prefer keeping a high rep in general, think about chucking Korgan out, and bringing in a good or neutral character as his replacement. These include Minsc, Keldorn, Valygar, etc.

Hey, dont worry about it. Just lower your rep somehow (kill a peasant or something, in a REMOTE plan!!! If you do it in Amn, then I think all the guards will be after you! Not pleasant!).
Then go back to the Slums and get Korgan back by paying him $500.

Have you gotten the Slayer Change ability? That's the easiest way to keep control of your reputation. Otherwise, reload before entering the Sphere or play it out and see if he's able to recruit once more in CC. Killing peasant and shop owners will get your rep down (quite a bit actually but you can always pay a church to get it up to desired level again). Make sure to do in a reclusive area like a home or a shop. RPG-wise, why not let your thief fail pick pocketing and then have Korgan attack immediately before your good guys have any chance to interfer?

I'm with Eleshar.
Rough up a few of the "commoners". Steal if you must but don't kill.

ok i kept on saving like every 5 min while i was in the sphere. for some reason everytime i reloaded Korgan didn't leave for a very long time. i finally got out of the sphere and Korgan hasn't left since. is this because i've completed his quest and now he's happy?

If your rep's still 19, he will leave you.

if you have Vicoinia in your party, dump her and pick her right back up. instant -2 all over again.

Yes, but when you dump her, you gain 2 rep. So this bit of cheese doesn't work.
