Why does'nt ayone like Nalia?
I used her on my first time and found her useful.
At the moment i am in Hell and she and Imoen are my highest level spell casters,
don't you just love simalcrum?
I also have a Minsc, Jaheira, Aerie, Imoen and my character Agarnna, a cleric/mage.
What do you think of my party?

It's not that we dont like Nalia, per se. It's just that she is kinda inefficient. I mean, she's a dual-class thief/mage who has only a level 4 Thief skills! And her mage level ain't that high either.
Take Edwin, and you'll see the difference!

I would pick Nalia over Imoen if it werent for Imoens better thief skills, if you dont have a thief as a PC Imoen is more usefull, picking Nalia means you would need to bring Jan as well..
I dont like to use a lot of magicusers like yourself, but the team seems alright

An almost all caster party, very fun!!!
I've tried something similar, its only problem is that in the end of ToB is a little confusing, you'll have so many spells and powers you'll feel to be not using them well all the time.
If I HAVE to choose between Nalia and Imoen I pick Imoen, but I like Nalia too.
I don't like evil members, so I think you've made a very nice party! Maybe I would put Keldorn for Minsc..

Many people like Nalia. There once was a long thread discussing her benefits compared to Edwin and other mages.
I consider Nalia as a single class mage with the possibility to use thief weapons. However, if you don't mind switching rings and drinking potions she'll take care of most situations demanding a thief.
Two advantages compared to Edwin is her lower AC and the ability to use thief weapons. Compared to Imoen, her greatest advantage is the fact that she's available from start and won't loose any XPs. She also has a nice personal quest.

I personally thnk Nalia is better than Imoen. No fancy reason, or justification. I just do.

Because Nalia is Imoen with inferior talent and personality.

*yawn*
With a mod, she has a romance in the game.

"For the needy!"
how are we helping the homeless by trudging around here?

Nalia is annoying and if I want a thief, I get Jan. If I want a mage, I pick Edwin. If I want a good NPC, I get Keldron. If I want all of them in one person, I just make on myself!
She is better with the mute button and easy on the eyes though!

Invincible, don't listen to them, keep Nalia!
Maybe you could try that Nalia Romance Mod.
@Quitch:
I'm understanding well? Are you working in a Imoen romance mod?!?!?
You'll be my HERO!!!!!!!
What project is "return to windspear"?

@Invincible121
I like Nalia, and I've taken her with me both times I've played the game. I even prefer her from Imoen, for when you find Imoen she doesn't seem to fit well with the rest of the group regarding experience and levels, not to mention her girlish giggles and free-care attitude, which I personally find out of place in the main characters long quest.
Of course, Nalia is not a good thief, but she becomes a powerful mage later in the game when you really need one. And that, if you have a good aligned party. Otherwise you get Edwin, though I haven't ever tried it.
Cheers

There will indeed be an Imoen romance, and I've been tossing around ideas for it in my head. I think I have the basic layout, though I'll need to come up with some event or quest for it, I think I have one.
Don't be happy yet, I haven't decided how it ends...
. Plus, the Bodhi NPC project is demanding my attention to, and we do need a proper bit of evil to stand by your side, instead of this "I'm evil but I wish I weren't" kind of thing you find.
Return to Windspear is a project myself, and a couple of the Ascension guys are working on. Dialogue is what I'm handling, and it'll be PST in both style and depth. If you're dumb, your responses will be, uh, dumb. If you're persuasive, you can lie better. Be smart and have more to say. Be wise and notice more of what goes on around you.
Oh, and if you're evil, you get a chance to be *really* evil. None of this selfish rubbish, we're talking true, cold blooded, evil.
Namby pamby mummies boys will get their share of noble responses.
There will be a sort of sub-plot within the quest for one NPC. Well, a bunch of events for...them

Quite Simple Nalia... We're NOT!

IIRC it's: "how are we helping the less fortunate by trudging around here" (maybe i'm wrong)
(minor spoiler)
the point is, it starts to get to you when you're example: freeing the slaves in athkatla, or helping the ppl in umar hills with the killings, like Korgan so elequently says: "she really starts to wear on me nerves!"

Korgan: Nalia, ye're overtall, beardless (
), long-limbed and lack strenght. Ye disgust me.
What did Korgan have in mind then? A dwarf woman evil fighter with ...beard?
Cheers

@Aubrey, It is part of mythology that Dwarven women also have beards.
@Invincible 121, you have now experienced the two sides of opinion on Nalia.
We all love simalcrum and your party is O.K. (but if my main was a cleric/mage I'd think about dumping Aerie).
And a belated welcome to the forum. - Curdis

Um... about the Imoen romance idea...
Er... isn't she the main character's sister? Just thought I'd point that out.

@Aramant I think Quitch must have made a fruedian slip on the Imoen romance - meant to say Nalia, but you would have to get Quitch to confirm that
.
And what's wrong with an Imoen romance
ANYWAY?(sounds of banjo in background)- Curdis
