by the way, i forgot to mention that my character is proficient with the katana(which is a sword!)

Kiss Minsc's ass goodbye. Anything Minsc can do, Valygar can do better, except for the ability to annoy and break the eardrums of anyone within a 30' radius. That award goes to Minsc alone.
Heck that should be Minsc's special skill:
Annoying Outburst
30 times/day
Causes Deafness 30' radius (No Saving Throws)
Affects both enemies and allies.

Boy that was great!
I love hearing Minsc jokes. Im sure if you have Minsc and Aerie in the same group your sanity has gone along with the flying pigs of the fifth demension because it is not with you for sure. Or you'll be glad that Minsc is so loud that you are deafened therefor you can no longer hear Aerie's complaints. ANYWAY-Back to the topic-dump Minsc as everyone else has said. Maybe Valygar caould use 2 weapon style-worked for me. Also you have Edwin and Keldorn in the same group? Do they get along?

Minsc is Invinsible!
Give him:
Cloak of Reflection/Deflection
Red Dragon Scale
Ring of Gaxx
Guanlets of Weapon skill
amulet of poison (immunity to poison)
Crom Faeyr in offhand
Flail of Ages in main hand
Boots of Speed
Utterly invinsible. No one ever hurts him, he has -11 thaco at high levels, spells have trouble hurting him.

If you give all those items to Valygar, you'd have the exact same thing. Only substitute is Shadow Dragon Scale instead of Red. You can also put a backstabbing weapon on the second primary slot for Valygar and get some extra fun. Valygar doesn't have the problem of having one of this quickslots permanently occupied by an unremovable item either.
