Underdark problem,need help.

At Svirfneblin village I came to some beast Balor and I have to defeat it but I can't. I've tried anything with that ugly creature,but he has high magic resistant(I don't have lower resistance magic!).
Can I beat him if I turn into slayer? And what are negative impacts if I do so?
P.S.Where could I get the lower resistance spell?

I don't know where you can purchase "Lower Resistance" off hand - definitely at the adventurer's mart (in the back), but you don't need it to defeat this enemy. Turning into the slayer is fine, the only negative consequence is that your rep will drop by 2 points, also you can't stay in the slayer form for too long or else you start taking damage and then die. As far as beating the demon, only high enchantment weapons (+3 and above???) will hit it, and it casts "fear" and stuns you as it fights. So you CAN just beat it down if you have +3 weapons, cast remove fear before the battle, and outfight it. Stun can be warded off by using the Ring of Free Action you may have gotten back at the asylum. Also Barbarian and Berserker rage will protect against it IF you have downloaded the fixes from Balderdash.

I've defeated him with Cleric staff+3, but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Long live the queen!

oh and chromatic orb as well that killed him instantly for me.
