Search for the words "bard song" (in titles only) and you'll find several threads on this subject. However, you'll find no answer to your question, if you are referring to the normal bard song. Not even Bioware seems to know the exact effects. I find this extremely strange...

I have answered this question before...there is an answer and it is that it acts as a luck spells and does not improve with higher levels. Atleast not in bg2.

@Bruce Lee:
...which would make it more or less useless, IMO. Your conclusion is one of many, how did you come by it? One of the drawbacks of the bard kits is that the normal bardsong doesn't improve. Rather illogical if this is also the case for the true bard, no? Also, do you know how the 5 % bonus is calculated when it comes to saving throws and to hit chances (as for thieving skills the calculation is obvious enough)?

I don't remember where I saw it, I think it was in bg1 where there were no kits. I am unsure as to how the game calculates it. I suspect that attack rolls and saves get +1 cause that equals 5%.
The blade has other disadvantages such as lower lore and pickpocket.

Finaly found this out. acording to the complete bards handbook the bard song of a standard bard does +1 to attack +1 to saving throws and +2 to moral to all allies in 10' radius/level of bard for level of bard rounds
a Blade does not get a bard song (however he loses some other abilities from the std kit so it balances mostly) but assuming it is as stated a blades song will do +1 to attack +1 to saving throws +2 to moral for all allies within 10' for 1 round
a skald has range of effect and length of bonus eqaul to a normal bard
jester - by the book all who can see the jester are affected but this is not the case for the game as jeters actions work while invisible . so i don't know
for those who would like to check the info for themselves Ad&D books
hope this helps

Actually, the question is whether the song has been implemented this way or not? And acoording to the rules, the song is supposed to improve as you level up, no?
