Alright, I have the quest to go kill him, should I kill him or add him to my party and do his quest thing.
My party consist of the following:
Me(monk)
Jan
Jahera
Anomen
Minsic
Yoshimo

You're obviously not evil, so don't kill him. Instead, replace Minsc with Valygar, go to the Planar Sphere, open it, then go back and get Minsc.

If I were you, I would ad him to your party and drop Anomen (I think he sucks). Valygar is a great back up tank with the right weapons. And besides that, his quest gives you some cool stuff. This is my humble opinion.

Yes, I think Mr. Clark is right, I hate Anomen. You only really need one cleric, and the more fighters, the merrier.

I played through the game with a good (not evil) Monk party and just killed Valygar. Keldorn was even in my party (and leaves if you find out he's not soo bad), but I just said "time to die" killed him, and carried his body with me to the sphere. Keldorn stayed, I beat the Sphere and eventually the game with Valygar. So you CAN kill him or take him with you, by now you probably already did whatever you're going to do. And that's all.

Another idea would be to drop Yoshimo and replace him with Valygar. Jan is more than enough thief for your party, and eventually Valygar can be a more effective backstabber than Yoshimo. His multiplier may be lower, but with Katana specialization and a Ranger's THACO he'll be more consistent. Plus he can haste himself, and has a great stealth rating. Also he makes an effective backup tank. Then once you hit Spellhold drop Jan for Imoen. That would give you a kick*** group.

I agree with ElvenKing, save for that I wouldn't switch Jan for Imoen but keep him the entire game. Especially for ToB his higher thief skills may comein handy.

You shouldn't drop Anomen. He's your only cleric. Jaheira is a druid, not a cleric. Many of the cleric spells are not accessible to Jaheira. They are both priest, though. Having two priest allows you to use them more offensive since they can split up the healing tasks.

Anomen is IMO one of the best NPCs in the game. Compared to Vic he's got better THAC0, higher strength, much more hit points and, not to forget, can blast those undead into oblivion. He needs the Gauntlets of Dex but you can obtain them early on. Also, make sure to do no mistake during his quest.

Has anyone experienced any bugs if you kill Valygar,use his body to open the planar sphere door and then giving his body to the Cowled Wizard before entering the sphere?I've tried this once,though I didn't bother going through the whole sphere quest after entering the sphere
