i hate palladins not beacuse their good, but because then i can't put my charisma very low.
I always play with the lowest charisma possible, because the Ring of human influence is in the beginning of the game.
In BG1 my dex was as low as possble, cause ther wehere the gaunlets of dex.
Who else puts their charisma at 3 (or elfs 8) and for that reson never plays as an palladin ?

yeah, thats what i do, i even tried once to play a multy class fighter/mage and tried to max out every ability that i could, i set my strength to 10 and planned on buying the girdle of hill giant strength soon... i just didn't know how long it would take to save up the money
