Alternate Romance Scripts for female PCs

Manveru has proposed that he'd like to work on additional romance options, but that he needs help with the dialogue. Since the choice for a female PC is so limited this thread is dedicated to a collaborative brainstorming on this subject. Present consensus indicates that Edwin and Valygar are popular choices amongst female players. Below I've copied and pasted (from Anomen thread) some ideas floating around. Comments, sugestions, improvements and expansions welcome.

By Vivien:
Edwin: I think, wench, that you should turn your eyes from that unworthy slob (Anomen) to a man more fitted for admiration. (yes, why does she look at the posturing of fools while, I, in my magnificence stand here?!?)

PC: Do you think we can't hear you talking to yourself oh 'magnificent one'?? Why should I pay any attention to a little man such as yourself?

Edwin: Well, as you know, luscious one, the men of Thay are renowned for our skill with magic...and other instruments most pleasing to a woman... just accompany me to my room for but a night and I can show you exactly what you would miss by consorting with this muscle bound goody looming over you. (gestures to Anomen)

Valygar: I have been thinking a great deal about magic, and know I know that I've been wrong.......It has many beneficial uses and it can also be a wonderful thing.

PC: What do you mean Valygar?

Valygar: Well.....I'm hesitant to say this but as we've travelled together I find myself increasingly under your spell. You possess a magic that I've never before encountered.

Anomen: Valygar, what are your intentions......?

This is cute :)

Okay, more Edwin dialogue possibilities (this would be a VERY early romance stage, perhaps one of the first) :)

Edwin: In this ill-conceived group you stand out as slightly different, and I find myeslf wanting to know more about you.

PC: What would you like to know, Edwin? (or alternately: “I would think you talk to yourself enough that you wouldn’t need to actually converse with another human.&#8221 ;)

Edwin: What is your opinion of me? I know it can only be favorable. Well, close to worship probably, but sometimes your eyes fall on me and I demand to know why.

PC: Actually, I’ve mainly been interested in your necklace, it’s quite unusual.

Edwin: My amulate?? You are looking at me for this bauble around my neck, not my person?! (Bother, why do I spend any time talking to these people, especially this …female&#8230 ;)

Ah, here we are at last :)

Well, I'm not too great at the dialogue thing...but I'll keep popping in and if by chance my brain gets kickstarted in this direction...

I do want to bring up what we had discussed about rivalry between Anomen and Valygar (or whoever, if Edwin is also a choice)...there is, I've heard, a rivalry that develops between Aerie and Jaheira if both are in a group with a male PC, so...And the resolution could go multiple ways...

Yes, I definitely like the idea of rivalry. It might also be a thought to set up a triangle between the PC, Valygar and Mazzy (sort of like the one between Aerie, Haer Dalis and the male PC).
I've seen the interactions between Mazzy and Valygar and I'm not sure how to interpret them, she asks Valygar to be her squire and he appears very uncomfortable with the whole thing, but eventually just goes along with it. But IMHO there's definitely something to work on there. Yes, Mazzy is upset at losing her boyfrined, Patrick, but Jaheira is mourning Khalid afterall......
@Vivien, the Edwin scripts are great :) . I'm going to have to start thinking about early Valygar dialogues, the one above would be for a bit further on I think.

You know, I just thought of something...At one point Valygar is complaining to the PC about how much he hates magic, etc...and the PC says something to the effect of "Why don't you find a nice wife and settle down and have children, and then you'd feel better." And his response was something like "I just might someday..." Those weren't the exact words but the tone indicated that the PC had comforted him by that, and that there was some kind of bond established because of it...I was quite surprised, actually. I already knew at that point that he was not a romance option, but that exchange made me wonder...

Well, just thought I'd throw that out there and see if anything can be done with it...

And...I'm...trying...to think of a PC/Anomen/Valygar dialogue, for when the PC has to choose between them...

An early Valygar dialogue??? He seems to be a man of discretion, so I've kept this first one very low level.

Valygar: What a day for traveling! It is at times like this when I miss roaming the wilds (he is a ranger after all).

P.C : Would you prefer to return to that life Valygar?

Valygar: Occasionally my heart yearns to hear the singing of wolves as I prepare to sleep. But..... beauty has many forms and I believe that life offers many paths. Sometimes it is good to explore the different avenues that present themselves.

P.C : I’m not sure I would have elected to go my present path, had I been given a choice.

Valygar: Yes, your situation is not an easy one. But personal difficulties are always easier with the support of….friends. … Know that I am here, should you ever wish to talk.

Loner, yes I'd forgotten the settling down line with Valygar. Definitely something to work on.

All of this sounds a little too serious to me. What about a romance with Jan?

Jan: You know, you remind me of Ulganilla
Grotz, my third cousin once removed's
best friend. She was as lovely as a
bowl of turnip stew.

PC: What?

Jan: Ah, yes, your lips are as luscious as
a freshly-harvested turnip.

PC: Huh?

Jan: Trying to ignore me, eh? A standard
tactic, that. I'll try again later.

@Abecedarian: LOL! That's really funny
:D
The thing is, I don't think any of us can actually envision a romance with Jan. And Valygar is a pretty serious guy, so I'm trying to keep him in character.......

@dragon wench, excellent - that last dialog for Valygar I particularly like.

@Abecedarian, ROFL!!! :D :D :D No nookie result there!!!

LOL, great Jan dialogue, but... isn't he supposed to be married or in love with someone or something? I don't know much about him...

Like the ideas everyone... I'm thinking, but no inspiration as yet... I'll lurk for now :)

just occurred to me, Manveru is bringing back Kivan from BG1. Not to confuse things further, but I always thought he was quite hot. I'm not suggesting that we construct a relationship with him too, but maybe a little mild flirtation???? Although, he's quite similar to Valygar so that could get confusing maybe. Thoughts? Or maybe that's overkill.....

A possible follow up????????

Dialogue Two
Valygar: I don’t wish to intrude, but you seem pensive lately……Is there anything I can do?
PC: a) I’ve been thinking a lot about my past, and also about what lies ahead
b) I truly appreciate your concern Valygar, but I’m okay
c) Valygar, I don’t require a guardian, please stop concerning yourself with my well-being.

Valygar: in response to a) Even if one’s past is a dark one, the future can always hold hope... I discovered this when I finally confronted Lavok When I first met you my only goal was to compensate for my family’s past wrongs, but now I have reason to feel happier about what may come…… Did I ever properly thank you for helping me to finally see that magic is not always evil, and that wrong and right are not so clearly defined as I would have believed?

In response to b) I’m sorry, I did not intend to disturb you; perhaps we can talk another time.
In response to c) I apologize, I won’t bother you again.

P.C: a) Valygar, I‘m sure you expressed your appreciation, but I can’t take credit for something that I was not wholly responsible for. Others were also there, and coming to understand oneself is something that happens from within. But……even so, I’m glad that you feel more at peace.

Valygar: I’ve long appreciated the role you played in helping me to achieve that inner understanding....And if I can, I’d like to be able to ... to help you in dealing with the darkness of the past; it is the least I can do.

P.C: Thank you Valygar, I appreciate your support.

This might be the time to start introducing the tensions with Mazzy and/or Anomen.

Maybe this is too heavy I don't know, although Valygar has more than a few demons......I also figure that it's about time the pc got a little support rather than always being the proverbial shoulder. Anyway, those are just loose ideas, maybe somebody else has some changes or suggestions???
Well, it's getting late, just about time for me to hit the pillow.

@dragon wench : some info about my Kivan - I tried to make for him intitial dialogue that indicates that he still want to hunt down Tazok (He killed Kivan's wife). Kivan waits in front of Fikraag's dungeon where we could find Tazok.

In this case female PC will be able to finish Kivan's revenge for him. (If I have the time I will write mini quest for Kivan as the trial.)

Wow, Kivan sounds good, definitely one of my faves from BGI...definitely competition material, IMO...I know that when I confronted Tazok in BGII I was thinking of Kivan :)

I think it's something to pursue...

Do we want to pursue this as a serious relationship or just a bit of flirtation? I'm open to both. And glad to see I wasn't the only one.... :o ;) .......

Aw, what the hey, let's go for the serious relationship :D These are just suggestions after all, it's up to Manveru to pick out the good stuff...doesn't hurt to just go for it as a possibility...

@Loner, that should make for some interesting dialogue if both Valygar and Anomen are in the party ;) What an ego trip, it would make the pc feel like a love goddess. Of course......with all that divine blood flowing through the veins... ;) Oops can't forget about Edwin.....
