How are my mages able to have detect evil? its listed under lvl 2

the scroll says lvl 1 but its under lvl 2 in my book.. but in the manual its only a priest spell is this a bug or something?

I'm positive its a level one mage spell, though I'm not sure how it appeared in your second level page...

Why would you need the spell, in any case? The are better, simpler ways to become aware of large, toothy creatures awaiting you.

This happened to me too. I don't know why, but i don't mind having a rather unique spellbook. It hasn't hurt anything so i just let it be. Besides it's 2000 extra xp anyway.
