Solo vs Teamplay

What does everyone think the better method of play is?
Each have their advantages, but which one is more preferred amongst you all?
I prefer the teamplay. I believe it is like an orchestra. You have everyone playing their parts to combine to form a masterful symphony. On occasion, you also get the solo playing but is always supported by the rest of the team.
What do you all think?

of course team play is better

I really don't understand all these people saying solo is easy. Have you tried it? Sure, it's faster at max speed, and you do level faster...but a lot of the quests give QUEST exp which goes to everyone in the party so the difference isn't as great as you might think. Also, a full party will usually hit the cap before the end of the game...the solo just hits it that much sooner. Beyond that, each character adds something to the group that is difficuly to match with a single character.
Not sure on the exact levels, but they should be close...consider F/T/M versus a group of Fighter, Thief, and Mage at levels 13/14/12 and 13, 14, and 12. The group and solo have the same total experience.
The solo gets 4 attacks if dual wielding and wearing boots...if not attacking it can cast spells, but if in melee may get disrupted. The group can make 5 attacks while casting spells from safely in the back.
The solo has a max AC of AC -5 or so without spells. The fighter can reach AC -15 without much effort and the theif and mage can stay out of the way.
If the solo gets stunned, confused, charmed, dominated, or mazed it's game over. With the group there is a good chance they will survive unless they all do.
Most importantly, the solo is as strong as it will ever get. The group is only half-way there.
The game is FAR easier with a full party than solo. Play solo for a challenge (especially with a weaker class). Play group for the NPC interaction.

Nighthawk is correct even if we have XP cap remover installed. Our success often depends on our speed (dragons, mind flayers, etc.). The soloist is much slower even with heaps of attacks. No matter what level he is he will have hard times during above mentiuoned type of battles. A team is simpler to play than a solo player.

I prefer team play (As one said before - interactions, quests, we could use more advanced strategies, and it makes the whole story more interesting)
I don't know whether soloing is harder or easier than teamplay (It depends on style of player) but soloing is just boring

After the first single player party (NPCs) games I usually play solo.
I have expressed my opinion in many threads that BG2 is easy even with solo: http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003054.html
A single player party is usually easier than solo and the easiest is a multiplayer party (of course one can choose the weakest solo class, weakest single player party, etc.)

Most difficult is to play with a team of six. Pathfinding makes this really difficult for me. Someone is getting hurt and someone else is in the way, someone gets charmed etc... Ideal is a party of three or maybe four but not more.

I don't undestand how it can be difficult with a pary of six people. If you have three tanks, one thief one healer and one mage then most battles are pushovers.
I think that team play is way better than soloing, because you feel like you have a nice group and soloing is like a loner trying to get all the wealth for himself.
I wish BG had parties of eight or more characters. That would be cool.

I played with five archers and a tank once and that was easy but often the characters get in eachothers way with a party of six, atleast when I play.

I always play with 6 people for NPC interaction

, and also it makes the battles easier

. I believe that soloing is no fun at all.

Try them both, the obvious answer...
IMHO, they are both fun, challenging, and legit; but very different in game-play...
My first game was a good-aligned full party... the NPC interactions were fun, interesting, and made the game...
The solo game I'm playing now, is challenging at a whole new level... Dragons, liches, the Slayer, tough for a party, REALLY HARD for a solo character...
but for my Archer, the biggest problem are traps and locked doors / chests...
Sure, I have the Find Trap spell, which helps me avoid most traps, but unless I can get around them, I normally will take damage... Locked doors and chests can be impossible, I can't open the high-damge ones and, therefore, can't get to some pretty SWEET items...
Since I'm trying to roleplayer an elven ranger, I'm not using any meelle weapons besides long swords, scimitars, katanas... so golumns are a problem...
Team play, or solo will provide different experiences... If you roleplay your character, either will fun...
ENJOY THE GAME !!!
