I've been experiencing this bug from my first game untill now.
And i've started ALOT of new games over the years.

Whenever i unluck Jaheira from here cage, she still thinks it's locked, and ask me to search fror a key. The after +-30seconds she suddenly realizes she's free and joins my party.

Anyone else has the same problem, and does someone know a solution?

If it were me, I would have the conversation with her before unlocking her cage. Then when the conversation is done and she tells you to unlock it, go ahead and do so.

No, I haven't figured out a solution, other than reloading.

Solution: leave her.

Talk to her, then go over and get the key, then unlock the cage, then talk to her again. But installing the latest patch if you haven't already can't hurt.

I have.
She joins the party after about 30seconds, but i cant find out what´s wrong. Even when i talk to her, and THEN open the cage i get this problem.

New plan:

1) Kill everyone in your party.
2) Resurrect.
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 as desired.

Very good stress relief. More safe than hunting down the game programmers, but it's a start.

I think i know how to by pass this. Dont talk to her, just unlock the cage, and when she first talks to you, there should be a choice (the last one) that says something like, 'your cage appears to be open' then you can say that there seems to be no traps and it is safe, then you can offer her to join your party. I dont know if this is a choice for you, but if it is, here ya go.

I've had this problem as well, and all I can do is just wait for her.
