with so much more xperience to gain, and so many new abilities for classes. how many people are going to replay just to dual class at a higher level to get ready for ToB?

*Raises hand* The thing is, I don't know which class to use. It's a tie up between a mage, thief, or archer for me. Anybody have any suggestions as to where I should lean to?

well, mage will have not just level 9, but newly madeup level 10 spells. thieves can make potions, druids will finally do cool things as well, every class will have new abilities.

With a cap at 8 million maybe multiclass is a good idea.

It would be amusing to see what monks are like @ level 30 in ToB. Fists as +5 weapons, immune to +2 and lower weapons, 6 attacks a round, that kind of thing?

Monk, Wild Mage, or Sorc (again), I suspect. I want to try out high end spells and abilities, so if I dual class, it will only be once more as a 9th level fighter to something else for the proficiency points.

Does anyone have an idea about how the new levels will affect rangers, specifically Archers? I only have the 3rd ed rules PnP, since I just moved, and my old library is in storage...
Looking forward to TOB !!!!

Barbarians should be even more powerful in ToB. They are gonna be almost as tough as adamantite golems :) What will happen with saving throws? Is everyone gonna have saving throws around zero?

i doubt mages will..unless they were dual classed from a fighter..i reckon i'll be dual-classing from a fighter later then i would have for BG2..cuz if i dual at say lvl 15 or something that still leaves me over 6 mil XP for my mage....make him pretty powerful ^^

when to dual class will depend on when new abilities will take effect, if a fighter's "whirlwind" ability takes effect at a certain level, you should probably wait to get that ability, and same with thieves for makign potions, or rangers for tracking.

i am just attached to my characters and don't really want to play over again, especially the same class...way too easy, but i may have to, to maximize what i can do in TOB

As far as info on ToB rangers, the only thing I saw was the tracking ability, which I think acts as a really good Wizard Eye. I'm sure, though, that other, more kicka** abilities will be revealed and will fill rangers all over the world with joy :D

Go Acuity Spell!!!!!!!! (read the chat w/ the progs if u don't get thid)

Yeah, I'm hoping archers get some sweet bonuses, since that's what I've decided to go with my first time through ToB.

Will assassins get x12 backstabs?

Barbarians would be virtually immune to damage. :D

I won't even mention monks. Wow! :( Hope things are still a challenge.

What kind of traps will bounty hunters have?

Can't wait to see high level druids! (I can't believe I said that. When playing PnP D&D, 7th ot 8th level was "high level" to me. :D )

Archers should be a one man firing squad, by that point. :D Try with darts. :D

Just a couple of thoughts and questions.
