How do you get party members to leave your party without asking another NPC to join you or deleting them?

Go to the Character Record screen and reform your party.

It is good fun to disarm a party member that you have decided has to go and let them do point duty. It was especially relevant in BG where lots of the NPCs wouldn't let you get rid of their little buddy and would insist on leaving with them.

Nah, Garcia. He just looked it up in the manual's index, and was nice enough to post it. Image

Removing and reinstalling party members can be a strategic boon, btw. When I dualled my kensai to a mage (at 9th level) in one game, I "fired" my party, then set my newbie mage to learn all the spells he could. Admittedly, I cheated in the sense that I reloaded when he flubbed a spell. On the upside, he got all the way to mid-level 9 as a mage on spell memorization, alone: not quite far enough to regain his Kensai skills, but almost.

It was amusing, too, to find that Korgan would only rejoin him if I paid him cash.
